Starting a new school year is the perfect time for a fresh
start. If you haven’t exactly been getting the grades that you wanted, make a
change! It takes some effort to bust out those A’s, but it’ll be so worth it in
the end. Just follow these tips, and you’ll be well on your way to a successful
school year!
Pull yourself together
One of the first things you should do in your back-to-school
prep is get organized! Whether you recycle your binders from last year (very
earth-friendly!) or get new ones, label each of them clearly. Make sure you
have extra paper and a specific binder or folder for each class, so your
schoolwork doesn’t get jumbled together. If you can’t find that math worksheet,
how will you ever expect to complete it? You can even assign a different
colored highlighter to use for each class, or decorate the binders to make them
more fun! The more organized you are, the easier it’ll be to get that work
done.
Create a schedule
We know you’re busy, but if you make a study schedule,
you’ll be way more likely to actually sit down and do your work. Keeping a
schedule will let you plan out the day and stay on track, which means you’ll
still have time to do all your favorite things. Time management is one of the
keys to success, so if you start now, you’ll be in great shape for the future.
Form a study group
Be sure to pencil some group study time into your schedule.
Studying with friends can be both helpful and productive, so call your buddies
before that big science test that you’ve been stressing over. You can alternate
whose house you use, which will give you a new environment each time and make
the studying less boring. Another
advantage of including your friends? You’ll have instant help if you get stuck
on a homework problem, which means fewer struggles and more success!
Ask your friends
Since you’re envious of your buddies’ grades, why not just
ask them their secrets? Maybe one of your besties has a great way to remember
vocab words, or another knows a quick and easy math trick. They’ll not only be
flattered when you ask for their advice or suggestions, but they’ll also be
ready to help. That’s what friends are for, right?
