Lost without my BFF

 
My BFF and I have been friends since pre-K. Lately, she ignores me for other friends. She rarely invites me over. When I tried talking to her about it, she smiled and walked away. How can I make her understand I’m lonely?
 
Dear Lost Without a BFF,
I’m sorry you’re feeling lonely. But instead of striving to make your friend understand this, make new friends. Can you meet some girls at the pool or rec center? Who else like to swim or throw Frisbees or go to concerts or whatever it is you do in the summer? Going away for a vacation might also help clear your mind. Is there a camp friend or cousin you can visit? It’s possible you and your BFF will become close again, but when you see her, be upbeat rather than letting her know you feel lost. When you want to get closer to someone, it’s better to seem less needy.

im not as close with my best friends as i was before. i think a lot of it is because one of my best friends has a boyfriend and she and my 2 best friends hang out with him and his friends a lot. i dont really like his friends and he's not all that great either; he's only nice to his girlfriend (my bff). so even though i have some classes with the 3 bffs, we're not as close and sometimes i feel like they dont like me as much or at least they are closer to each other. i have other friends too, but i miss the relationship i had with my bffs. please help! thank you <3




Hey girlie,

Relationships grow and change as we get older, so it's totally natural for you to feel more or less close with your besties as time goes by. It's not like you've done anything wrong (or they've done anything wrong either) - you might have just grown apart! Just make sure that you're always putting yourself out there in some way, whether it's being out-going in your classes, joining new clubs, asking your friends to hang out on your own without them having to ask you, etc. You gotta take an active part in making friends and maintaining those friendships! Same goes for these girls, if you want to be closer to them again. Sure you might not like your one friend's BF, but make an effort to accept him and hang out all together. Ask your besties if they want to get together at the movies/bowling alley with the gang, then use your actions to prove that you're willing to accept him. Sometimes it's tough when our friends have BFs (especially ones we don't like) so, if you wanna keep your friendship strong, you're gonna have to let her know that you are willing to deal with him in order to stay friends!

MODMODMOD im lost without my bestie to we know each other since birth (are moms are best friends) but know she ignors me and she even knows about all the girls gossiping on my hair just because its a snowy white, even if she isnt my friend anymore shouldn't she say something? In athletics she always glares at me like i can't do the same things at her, and she tells me i should stick with ADV. theater art and writing. But is that fair? Then when we are practicing im always left out, life just is not fair but yet the world isn't fair!

 

Hey missy, you don't need her. You need friends who are going to have to have your back not stab you in it. I wouldn't worry about her anymore and start focusing on making new girlfriends. Whenever she stares at you look confident and stare back. Smile

MOD MOD MOD I found that these two friends of mine who've submitted and won a poetry contest and are going to by the book their poems have just been published in, well the anthology is a scam that's only sold to the people who've 'won.' Should I tell them? One of them was so excited, she even wrote a paper about it. Thanks

MOD MOD MOD ok Me and my friend use to be really close then all of a sudden she started to hang out with other people and stopped talking to me and i got worried so i told her but she didn't really care, Then she started talking to other girls and look at me and start laughing then i kept hearing rumors that she has a New best friend so i told her to stop making gossip and then i told her that u dont have to whisper but all she did was look at me like im stupid and didn't say anything then just when i told her that some other girl came up to her took her a side and started talking to her , we use to be bff and now shes acting like she doesn't know me and every time i try to talk to who she looks at me like im from a different planet




Hey girly! I know it is rough to be in this situation, I have been here before too. Instead of trying to talk to your BFF at school in front of everyone, get her alone so that she doesn't feel like she has to hide while talking to you. Girls can easily change the way they act so they fit in with other poeple , so get her at a time when she doesn't have to be fake and know that others are watching her. Ask her why she is being so mean and doesn't want to be friends anymore. If she continues to be mean and whisper about you then she isn't the same person that you were once BFF's with, so make some new friends and venture out. She her that she didn't get to you.

Hi! Hey, I just got an email from one of my besties, and it said, "I just looked at the pottery we painted at K's party. Some of it is messy (meaning urs)". I think she Cool, is mad at me, because I hang out with another one of my and her besties, A. My mom invited A over to make cookies on Friday, and H heard about it, and I think shes mad bc I didnt invite her. She doesnt know that A was invited by my Mom, not me. She probably will get K, a 3rd bestie to side with her, bc H has been to Ks house the entire weekend. I have a class with K and H tomorrow, and im nervous that H will spread rumors. Help!!!!


 


Hey girly girl, I'd talk to your friend, H, about everything. Bring up the fact that your mom invited the other girl over, and then ask if she wants to come over one night this week or next weekend!
