Am I a late bloomer?

I was reading that you usually get your period around the same time your mom did. If that's true, I should have my period by now. I was wondering if that's normal not to get around the same time. Am I just a really late bloomer?

That is not necessarily true. The important thing to remember when it comes to periods is that EVERY girl is different and develops at a different rate. A chat with your doctor can really help put your mind at ease…and make sure there really isn’t anything wrong with your bod.
