An early lunch period and a hectic schedule can leave your
tummy rumbling by the time the final bell rings. When dinner seems impossibly
far off, munch on these tasty bites during a study sesh with your besties.
Brilliant!
Quesadillas
Ask mom to keep the refrigerator stocked with tortillas and
shredded cheese. When you bust through the front door, dig through leftovers
and ripe veggies to create a delicious concoction. Mashed up meatballs from
last night’s spaghetti dinner? Yum! Shredded grilled chicken? Fantasmic!
Crepes
While you can certainly make a stack of fresh crepes (and
show off your culinary skills), it’s super easy to whip up a batch over the
weekend and store them in an air-tight bag in the refrigerator for an anytime
snack. Pop them in the microwave for about 20 seconds or until piping hot, then
slather on Nutella, jam, peanut and banana—whatever you’re craving.
Grilled cheese finger sandwiches
Perfect for when you’re not in the mood for a huge sammie
but yearning for some comfort food, these bite-sized grilled cheeses are tops.
Slice your bread into quarters and make enough for everyone to have one or two.
Then fill ‘em and grill ‘em!
Pita pizzas
Make individual pizzas for all of your pals with jarred
tomato sauce, shredded cheese and whatever toppings you have laying around.
Fifteen minutes in the oven—or until the cheese is bubbly—are all that’s
separating you from gooey goodness.
What’s your favorite after-school snack, sweeties?
