Am I coming off too strong?


 
There's this older guy I met at summer camp. I got his number and added him on Facebook so we could keep in touch. I used to text him all the time and he would answer back until he had to go, but recently he just stopped answering me. Should I just stop trying to talk to him or keep texting/chatting with him even though he doesn't respond? And if I keep texting him, will he think I'm annoying?

His Answer: “ You should stop trying so hard -- wait until he responds. Or if you want to reply, don’t do it all the time, just casually. He might think you’re annoying if you keeps bothering him,” explains Raphael, 12.

Decoded: Constant texting and chatting can be cute, but not if it’s a one-sided conversation. Fact is, guys get bored easily, and if there’s no challenge in winning your attention, he’ll move on fast. That’s not say that you should play hard to get, but if he isn’t willing to make the effort and initiate a conversation, he’s not worth your time.

You Move: Take a deep breath and let him make the first move. You’ve already shown your interest, so if he’s into you he’ll reach out and make an effort to stay in touch. And if the weeks go by and he’s silent? I’m sorry, chica, but some things are meant to fade as summer does.

Okay, so my French teacher put me, my crush, and this other girl in a group together to write a skit. I always blush and get really nervous when I talk to him. It's also the last period of the day, so most of my make up has already worn off, and my hair isn't looking as great ambit was at the beginning of the day. I'm not exactly sure what I'm asking, but I just need some overall advice because I'm really nervous. (We're going to be in these groups all week)

Hey girlie,

Try not to be nervous and to just focus on your schoolwork--I'm sure your crush won't care what you look like and will be more interested in planning the skit than studying your makeup. Show him how awesome you are by putting extra effort into planning the skit, and he won't care what your makeup and hair look like!

So I really like this guy, G. We are friends, but not really, really close. We definitely aren't as close as real best friends are. He has been calling me his "best friend" and telling people that we are best friends and I'm his best friend. His friend,B, asked me who's my best friend, and the guy I like looked at me to see whether or not I was going to say his name. One time B told me that G was going to ask me to Homecoming and R said no he was going with a different girl. They weren't even actually going together.. He gets mad, jealous and doesn't talk to me if I don't call him my best friend. (Which happened only once.) Does it mean he could like me but not want to tell me? I love how he calls us best friends, and I love calling him my best friend too! Thanks and sorry for being long!

 

Hey! Yeah I think it could mean he likes you, if he cares that much about other people knowing you're close. sounds like a crush to me Smile

So one of my bgf's asked me out last month and I said yes... But I shouldn't have! I only did it because I felt bad for him because everyone said he really liked me for like 6 months! Well we went out for a week and everyone was saying we were a really cute couple... But I had to break up wit him! After all, I didn't really like him. We still text all the time and things aren't weird at all! But I'm having mixed feelings... Idk if I like him or not. This may seem silly, but one of the reasons I don't like him is because he's shorter than me! And not that attractive. Any advice? should I still be texting him?? Thanks!Smile




 Hey babe, that's great that you were able to stay friends with him after your breakup. If you're not attracted to him, then that's that. You can definitely make it work with a shorter guy if that's your only reason not to fall for him. But if you're happy being friends, there's no reason you can't keep things the way they are.

MOD! Hi, first, I want to thank you for reading and (hopefully) answering this! So, I really like one of my guy friends, we're not that close, we've only been talking daily for about a week, but since we started talking we've eaten lunch together at school every day. He's normally not all that confident around girls (I think), but he asks every day if I want to hang out at lunch. He also texts me all the time, and we talk about pretty much everything. SO, to get to the point, does it sound like he likes me? And if so, where do I go from here? Help? Thank you! Smile

Like almost the same thing happened to me, but he always texts me back. But we run out of things to talk about. He is really an outgoing guy but he isn't very dynamic texting so our convo usually ends pretty quick. Any ideas?
