Psst: The secret to making your outfit look amazing is just below the surface. Yep, sporting the just-right bra will ensure your look your absolute best on the first day...and beyond. Here’s what to seek out when you’re shopping or when you’re riffling through your top drawer.

DO Find a bra that fits your bod 
Sounds obvious, but we can’t stress enough how important it is to find a bra that’s just the right size for you. If it’s too big, it won’t give you the support that you need, and if it’s too tight, it will be uncomfortable (and may cause bad back pain!). Always get measured at a department or specialty sure to ensure you’ve got the right size. Sport a cami to the store, so you’ll feel comfortable while she measures you. 

DON'T Wear a ruffled garment under a fitted top
If your tee is on the tight side, opt for a smooth or “t-shirt” bra (yep, they make ’em special). They’ll ensure your top doesn’t look bumpy and there will be zero bra lines.

DO Alternate days

Wearing a strappy bra with a strapless shirt is a serious fashion no-no. Although it’s sometimes a style that celebs sport, skip this look. Strapless bras were made for a reason—to be worn under strapless shirts, obvi. Find one ya like and put it to good use during warm weather.

DO Invest in a flesh-tone bra
If you’re wearing a light colored shirt, it’s key to wear a bra similar to your skin tone. Snap up a nude-hued bra that can be worn under white and pastel colored shirts. If you don one that doesn't match your skin or has a crazy pattern, it will show through. And that’s a don’t!
