There is no “right time” to go through puberty, develop breasts and get your first period. What’s normal depends on your genes and, well, you. It’s typical to not fully develop until your late teen years, even if your mom was an early bloomer. While you might want to visit your doc just to make sure your body is growing as it should, there’s nothing for you to worry about, promise!
As you go through high school, chances are you’ll see girls at a bunch of different stages of development. One chica could share your birthday and have gotten her first period in junior high while you’re still waiting for Aunt Flo to pay you a visit. Another girl might be just like you, her body biding its time. Comparing yourself to your peers is natural and 100-percent OK. But if you don’t see your body going through the same changes your peers’ bodies are going through at the same time, don’t freak. Remind yourself that puberty isn’t about your peers; it’s about you. Your body will develop in its own time.

man I'm just like this girl. I'm the same age as well. But one thing that is different I haven't even got a bust yet lol. I never usually worry about it but sometimes it does cross my mind what this girl is asking. I'm glad I read this!
