I'm red from scratching down there!

I recently shaved my bikini line and it got really itchy. I started scratching, and now it’s all red! Is that normal?

The itchiness you’re experiencing—and the redness that comes with scratching—it totally typical. After you shave down there, even if it’s just a tiny area, the follicles become super itchy when the hair starts to grow back in. That’s why you’re scratchin’ up a storm!

Shaving with shaving gel or cream instead of soap or body wash can help cut down on the itchiness. After you’ve shaved, pat the area dry with a clean towel, then apply an antibiotic ointment like Neosporin, or sponge off the area with a cotton ball dipped in milk. These tried-‘n’-true tricks are like gold when it comes to killing the itch!

Good luck, girlie, and stop scratching!
