Last minute Labor Day fun

Head out to the pool one last time. Most pools close after Labor Day weekend so get out there one last time to relax, tan and swim before fall rolls around. Text a friend or bring your fave mag and read poolside the whole weekend.

Spend sometime with mom or dad. The school year is here, and with it comes busy schedules. If your parents are at work all the time, take advantage of their day off. Ask mom if you can have a girls’ day out, or help dad with dinner.

Check local events. Many towns will be hosting parades, festivals and concerts to celebrate the holiday. Look in the newspaper or online for fun things to do around your area with friends and family. Send a few texts to rally your group, and go!

Picnic in the park. Pack up your favorite lunch foods and go to the park with your friends. Spend the day outside flying kites or throwing Frisbees as the summer wraps up.

Camp in the backyard. Set up a tent and enjoy the last warm, summer nights. Cook some hot dogs and roast marshmallows. See who can come up with the best ghost story or corny joke.

Host a game night. Pull out all the board games you own but haven’t played in ages, and challenge your buds to a tournament. Beat someone in Sorry or finish that epic Monopoly game you never thought you could!
