Dear Stress Mess,
You’re not alone, and I’m sorry you’re feeling stressed. Lots of hardworking people get overwhelmed because there isn’t enough time to do everything every day. But in the big scheme of things, there is enough time to do what matters. It’s just that you may have to study during the week, and flirt, chat and shop on weekends.
This doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some daily rest and relaxation. You can! Give yourself daily kickback time—whether that means taking a bath, e-mailing friends, reading a novel, doing yoga, listening to music, yakking on the phone or walking your dog.

POSTED IN bust school stress, new school, rock your new school, back to school, have the best school year ever
I wish i'd seen this article sooner. when i went into 8th grade i barely made it 2 months before the stress got to me. I started having panic attacks and throwing up everytime someone reminded me about my unfinished homework. my mom pulled me out of public school to homeschool me. im better now but i feel like the whole thing could have been prevented if i had made myself take a brake once in a while. im just glad it's over.

MOD MOD MOD next year I'm going into junior high and want to be really prepared. I want to be organized and remember to do my work on time. Also I want to know about stuff like what boys expect and what I should expect about puberty. Please help.
Hey CottonCandyCutie, it’s very good that you want to go into middle school so prepared. You’re already sending out positive vibes for yourself! It may help you to set up a scheldue for yourself. After school you could give yourself a 20 minute break to get something to eat, watch a little tv or take a quick nap. After that dedicate the next 2 to 3 hours on your homework. Take another break, maybe 30 minutes this time for dinner, and if you have anything to study or review use the next 20 minutes to do so. Setting up a routine like this will help you stay on track with all your work. Getting a calendar you can post on your wall, where you can write in reminders for important events will work too. I never forget anything because I jot notes down on post-its, and hang them on my calendar. You will encounter so many different boys in school, so it can be hard to figure out what each one wants. Once you get a crush, spend time talking to him and finding out about his interests, and take it from there. With puberty your bod will continue to grow and develop and you’ll finally get your period. Periods aren’t all bad, and if you have any questions on them, go to our search bar and type in “periods” for a whole list of articles. Hope all this helps!! Xoxo

Any advice? Every girl gets nervous about the jump between 5th and middle school/junior high. I definitely did. I read a lot of books about middle school to help me ease my worries. At the bookstore, there's a few American Girl books about it, and not to mention GL's book! Jordan S.
