Oh, babe, I’m so sorry you’ve been feeling so bad lately! While the extra tests—like an endoscopy—sound scary, getting over the nerves and going through with it will be worth it when you’re feeling better. Now, let’s get down to the facts.
An endoscopy is when specially trained doctors use an endoscope to look inside you. An endoscope is basically a teeny little video camera and light on the end of a long, narrow, flexible tube.
Depending on what areas your doctor wants to look at, the endoscope could be inserted down your throat or through your anus. While the procedure may be uncomfortable—you might be given a local anesthetic—it won’t last too long, probably around 30 minutes to an hour. They might decide to take a biopsy, or a small sample of something suspicious in your gastro-intestinal tract, but you shouldn’t worry about that. Just keep yourself calm and focus on feeling better again, and you’ll be just fine!

POSTED IN eating, doctor, dealing with docs, advice
MOD MOD MOD this is mostly just so that the author sees this comment maybe? well anyways im 14 and i had an endoscopy done like maybe 1 or 2 years ago? and the truth is it is somewhat uncomfortable especially when eating, so don't eat anything like steak. and it also feels really funny when they put it in (and take it out). so overall the entire experience is not fun but also not the worst. lets put it this way.. getting stitches is waaay worse

While I haven't had an endoscopy before, I know that anesthetic will be a huge help for operations.. Good luck, and feel better! If anyone has ever gotten/seen a stock message from a mod when someone needed advice, you'll understand that the mods can get really busy working on this site. So if anyone needs advice, which I have lots of experience in giving, I'll give you my best tips to help you get through whatever you need.

MOD I just found out my guy friend (and my ex) is gay. I really want to help him through this. Im the only one who knows. and I need advice to help him tell his parents, and other people. . . and advice to help both of us through this.
Hey girly! You should feel really honored that your friend trusts you enough to tell you something so big. However, the best thing you can do is listen to him when he needs it, and be supportive. Let him know that you're there for him and will be through everything. As for telling his parents and friends, that's something that he should do when he's ready. And, it's possible that he may not be ready yet. So, I wouldn't push him to come out. Just let him come to grips with it at his own pace. And, let him know that you're there for him no matter what.
