My ex killed my body confidence

 
My ex-boyfriend used to call me ugly, stupid and weird behind my back while we were dating. Now when I look in the mirror, all I see is that ugly, stupid girl. My family and friends tell me I’m beautiful, but I can’t help what I see. What should I do?

 

Oh, babe, that’s awful! Your ex-boyfriend was an emotional abuser. For whatever reason, putting you down—calling you ugly, stupid and weird—made him feel high and mighty. The good news is that he’s out of your life. Now it’s time to get him out of your head.

 

What you need to do is rediscover your beauty, inside and out. Every time you look in the mirror, I want you to take a moment and find something beautiful in what you see, whether it’s the quirky gap in your teeth that only shows when you really smile, or the glint in your eyes when you’re up to no good. Bit by bit, you’ll regain your confidence and your realization that you really are beautiful.

 

When it comes to the inside, you need to start recognizing your triumphs. Proudly post your A+ papers in your locker or on a bulletin board at home so you can see that grade clearly every day. Keep sweet notes from friends and family and achievements from extracurriculars in sight. Surrounding yourself with reminders of how awesome you are will help you take heart in your accomplishments, and come to the understanding that your jerk ex-BF is the dumb one, not you.

ok… so like last year i had a HUGE crush on this one guy last year… and we were really close friends. and me and my friend were playing truth or dare and then she asked me who i like and i said the guys name… i'll just call him Tim… and Tim's friend heard me and told him. And we were friends until we had to move seats in class and then for the rest of the year he wouldnt talk to me. this year i have him in 3 of my classes in my scedule… and he happens to go tomy karate. we haven't talked at all… and im kinda scared of him because he always glares at me… and HE'S REALLY CUTE!!! what do i do?!?!?!?!? help me! thanks Laughing




Hey girl! Seems like you really like the guy and you all were really good friends. Try just talking to him again and having a normal conversation. It may be easier if you all start just being friends again and then see where it goes. Best of luck!

There's this guy a grade below me I met through a volleyball program in 8th grade, and it was obvious to us and other people that we flirted and maybe liked each other during volleyball, and now he's at my high school. I don't see him regularly in the halls, but when I do we make weird eye contact. It's the "I think I remember you and I'm kinda trying to say hi but I don't know if you remember me so I'm not going to say hi" kinda thing. It's just "That Look", if you know what I mean. I can't figure it out and it's driving me crazy!




Hey girl, I'd try saying hi to him or asking him if he went to that volleyball program (i.e. "So sorry if this sounds a little weird, but were you in my volleyball program last summer? You look so familiar!") No need to let things be awkward.

Sorry but this is not related to the topic. I have these two people texting me and they claim to know me they know my first name and claim they go to the same school. I have asked them who are they but they never told me. I am really scared. I have told only my two closest friends but should I talk to the school counselor to help me?
