Am I too young to be in love?



How do I know if I'm in love? My friends always say that they love with their crushes or BFs, but my mom says 13 is too young to be in love. Is she right?
 
Before ya do anything else, as yourself this, chica: am I really old enough to be worrying about love? You're 13, not even in high school yet, and your friends are declaring love for boys that may not even know they exist, or they only hold hands with in the halls? I don't know about you, girlie, but I don't think that sounds like they really love those guys. You should be worrying about acing your classes and having fun with your besties. Guys are wonderful and all, but being truly in love with them shouldn't be your biggest concern right now.
 
Your mom is totes right about 13 being too young to be in love. You haven't completely figured out who you are and what you want in life. Plus, love takes a long time to develop -- not just one week of going out, or seeing your cutie in class for two months. Sure, you can really like a guy and gush to your BFFs about how completely adorable and amazing he is, but love at 13 is totally too young to truly know if you're in love.

i liked this guy last year and things didnt really work out...we never even went out. Since school has started i have been thinking about him more and more maybe its just cuz my summer romance didnt work out... i talked to him for the first time since april and he responded rite away with a smiley face. i told him it was nice talking to him again and he said its nice talking to u again 2... do u think i should go for it and does he sound interested or just friendly? thanx Smile

This is a difficult sitch to interpret since you're texting this guy. Instead of texting, why don't you ask him to hang out with you after school so you can get to know each other face-to-face? Since you'll get to read his body language and listen to his tone of voice, you'll get a much better idea of how he feels about you! Have fun, xoxo!

Boys can be so confusing over text - this is a sitch that can go either way. Instead of texting him, why don't you invite him to hang out with you after school one day? Since you'll get to hear his tone of voice and read his body language, you'll get a better hold on how he feels. Good luck!

I beg to differ. I don't think there's a 'certain age' when you can officially fall in love. I don't think 3 year olds can fall in love, but I think 13 year olds can. I am thirteen and I've been in love once, when I was twelve. I've had other crushes since then, even huge crushes, but never in love again. It can also depend on your definition of love. Devin A.

So I have been dating my boyfriend for 3 years. I love him, we're like best friends. I have a problem though. I like my best guy friend also. My boyfriend knows about it, but isn't mad. He told me that he feels like he doesn't deserve me and my best guy friend does. I feel like I want something new and exciting but I don't want to lose what I have with my boyfriend. I'm so confused.. please help.

Last night, my BFF invited a boy over to meet us at store
across the street from her house. He brought 2 friends but
we werent allowed to cross the street because it was past
curfew. So they sat on one side of the road and we sat on the other and talked (i know stupid right?) well I went inside to get my phone and when I went back out the boys were in her yard and one was my crush of 3 years! My friends were REALLY embarassing and acting like spazes. I
just stayed quiet in the back and laughed a little. Did I completley blow my chances of ever being with him? Does he just think im a spaz to? I didnt talk to him or anything. This is killing me please help.
