Do I have dandruff down there?

 
I have a white flaky substance on the hair down there. It’s not itchy. What is it? And what do I do?

 

It sounds like your mysterious flaky white substance is either dried discharge or dandruff. If you’re not itchy or smelly down there, you should be A-OK. Keep the area clean by splashing your vagina with warm—not hot—water when you shower. If it is dandruff and your skin down there seems dry, consider gently washing your pubic region with a dandruff shampoo to knock it out. And if it becomes itchy or stinky? Get yourself to your doc, quick. It could be a yeast infection, which is very treatable.

I have a lot of dandruff down there and itd really icthie and smelly do I have a yeast infection? and also kinda burns when I have to pee? plese awsner fast I need and awsner!!!!!




You should probably go see a doctor. It may be a little awk telling your mom, but she will totally understand! If it's a yeast infection, it's no big deal. They will just give you medicine and you'll be all better in no time!

1.ok this is an awkward question, but i was wondering HOW smelly does it have to be down there to be an infection??? because sometimes i can smell my discgarge if there is alot of it and if it is really hot out. ( i dont really think i have an infection, but sometimes it can be itchy down there too, same reasons.
2.Is it normal to have a lot of discharge???




Hey! There's no way to know by smell alone, but if something seems off talk to a doctor for sure. And yeah it's normal to have discharge every day.

I shave down there and use moisturizer to help make the shaved area feel better and not have problems with razor burn. It helps and I dont have problems with shaving like some girls, but could all the moisturizer I use help prevent the dandruff issue you are talking about. I never had dandruff down there and my skin feels well moisturized so could that why?




Hey girly girl! It's very possible, since lots of times, dandruff is caused by dry skin. If it works for you, I'd keep moisturizing!

MOD! I tried a tampon for the first time last month (my mum bought me non-applicator ones), and it was painful when I sat down and I probably didn't put it in far enough.. but when I tried to put it in further, it wouldn't!?




I suggest you try again. Also you may need an applicator to make it easier to do. So you can get it in as far as needed. Good luck! xoxo kerra

So lately my throat has been feeling kinda tight and i haven't had a hard time breathing but every once and awhile i will think my throat is closing up and start freaking out. My mom says it is nothing and i am okay whenever this happens. she doesn't want to take me to the doctors because she thinks nothing is wrong. Do you think it could be a type of sore throat or maybe i am starting to have panic attacks and that is why it sometimes feels like that? or could it be more serious like asthma or something? Do you think i will be okay?

Hey girlie,

If you aren't short of breath or wheezing, it's probably not asthma. It sounds more like a panic attack to me, made worse by the fact that you start panicking when it happens! It's worth talking to your doc about it. If mom doesn't want to make a move, give your doc a call on your own to chat over the phone - or ask at your next checkup. It's probably nothing but it's worth asking, for peace of mind!

MOD MOD MOD also, i was wondering since i have such a heavy flow that can i also wear a tampon with a pad? so that way i can use that in the morning and then around lunch time i can just have the pad. is that okay?

 

Hey chicky, yeah I guess you could use both. I do think it would be better to just wear a pad in the morning and then switch it around lunchtime. After all, you're going to have to switch them anyway. Smile Smile Smile

so i got my period april 29, then it dissapears just until the 7th of sept. my first period was light, and my heaviest day was the 3rd day. this time i got it, it is soo heavy and kinda gross. yesterday embarrassingly, i leaked. iwas even wearing a heavy flow pad. it was horrible. but my question is do think its just a irregular thing, or did it like build up over time?sorry for making it so long but i need help.Thnx
