10 quick tricks to get your best brows


 
We all have those times when we can't make it to meet our in-the-know ladies at the salon to deal with our eyebrow emergencies. Your peepers just don't pop the way the do when they're perfectly shaped.  Good thing GL has your back.  We've got all the do's and don'ts of eyebrow maintenance.

DO pluck your brows to fit your face shape.  For a round face, a high arch works best.  Ovals should go with a more natural curve. Square divas lean toward an arch with a sharp peak. And good ol' heart shapes need a rounded curve and a sharp end.

DON'T go crazy with those tweezers! Only pluck below the brow, never above, and your brow should only taper off slightly towards the end. No tadpole brows, please!

DO plan out beforehand.  Take a lightly colored eyeliner pencil and mark these spots:
*Hold the pencil against the side of your nose and mark where the pencil meets your brow. From here, aim the tip of the pencil to the outer corner of your eye and mark there where it meets the brow. Then, mark the highest point on your brow. Find this by Holding the pencil in front of your eye, and lining it up with the outer side of your iris. The highest part of your arch should be there.

DON'T wander too far away from your natural shape.  If you normally have thick brows, don't tweeze those babies super thin.

DO brush them out pre-pluck.  If you don't have a brush made for this endeavor, whip out a spare toothbrush.  It works just as well.

DON'T expect your right eye to look exactly the same as your left.  They won't look entirely symmetrical, unless you used a stencil, and that's just not a good idea.

DO call in a helper for those tricky spots.  Hand them slim cuticle scissors and have them trim up any pieces that stick out.

DON'T create too much of an arch that it just looks unnatural.

DO pause every couple of plucks to step back a foot and take a look at your work. Brush off your brows and switch sides.  You'll be less inclined to over-pluck one spot if you trade off sides.

DON'T get caught up in the mirror.  Use a normal mirror, not a heavily magnified one. Looking in closely can cause you to lose your symmetry.

What kind of tool is that in the picture? Is that what you would suggest for this, and would that sort of thing expensive? I don't think my mom is crazy about the idea of me doing this, so she would get mad if I spent a lot of money on this. Thanks!

I heard of a tip that you use vaseline on your eyebrows to make them look polished.

I used to pluck my brows, but then I guess I kind of messed up and plucked in wrong places and ect. Anyways my mom took my tweezers away because she didn't want me to pluck them too much.
So now I want to just get my brows waxed, but my mom won't let me do that either. I hate my eyebrows now! They're so thick!




Try talking to her and explaining that going to a professional would be better because they know what they're doing, as opposed to you taking a go at it Smile

My right eye brow is a little higher than my left, I have glasses and when I wear them you can really tell Frown I'm nervous that people will make fun of me for it, people have commented on it before, no one has made fun of me before for it but, it still makes me very self concious. Please help

My bro and I went to my BFF's house today after school to hangout. She has a bro and r other friend were there cause us 5 r super close friends. We were all outside in the back yard. When it was time to go my bro said he had to get somethin so i wad talkin to my friend. Well I went around the house and I caught my bro and my bff kissing!!!!! They didn't see me but I just froze and heard my bro say to my bff that they have to be careful they don't get caught cause they don't want anyone to know there dating. I didn't tell my other friends but what the heck do I do Now! My bro and I r close and so is me and my bff idk what to do tho! Relax! You're feeling the shock of this crazy scenario happening in front of you - two worlds (besties and family) that you never thought would mix like that, and now they have. But think about it for a sec. Is this REALLY such a bad thing? So they make out, or date, or whatever they want to do. Is it going to affect you in any way? Probably not - aside from it being a lil weird, you'll still see your bestie and might even grow closer to her since she could be around more often with your bro. And if they break up, you won't have anything to do with it. So you won't lose a friend either! Try to take some deep breaths and think about it that way. If it makes your bro and your bestie happy, then it must be a pretty good thing. And you're the one that brought them together! Just call ya Cupid ;)

Hey girlie,

Try putting an ice cube into a plastic baggie, then holding the ice up to your pimple. Keep it on for 5 min, take it off for 5 min, put it on for 5 min, etc. until it melts. The ice will help the swelling and redness go down!

My face is mostly a heart (it's a mix) and I'm confused about the "rounded curve and sharp end" thing. What does it mean??? thx!

 

That means that the top of your head is a rounder fuller shape and, as you go down to your chin, it gets thinner. Usually "heart-shaped" faces have a more severe chin, like Reese Witherspoon, Kirsten Dunst, or Jennifer Love Hewitt!

also, dont over pluck if you have thick eyebrows, instead just give them a little trim. After all, thicker eyebrows make us look younger and cuterSmile
