5 moves for your best booty

Celeb trainer Jennifer Cohen is hookin’ you up with five moves for a better butt and leaner legs. Rock the entire circuit three times at least three days a week, then hello, skinny jeans! Don’t forget the cardio...

1. Outer Thigh Lifts
Lay on your right side with your right arm extended out by your ear and your head resting on your hand. Place your left hand on the floor for balance. Make sure your spine is straight and your butt is tucked in, as if you were standing. Flex your left foot and slowly lift it. Return to start and repeat 10 times on both sides.

2. Inner Thigh Lifts
Start in the same position as the previous move. Cross your left leg over your right, so your left foot is flat on the ground and your knee is bent. Raise your right leg as high as you can. Slowly lower it back down, without it touching the ground. Repeat for 10 reps and then switch sides.

3. Hamstring Curl  
Lay on your back, with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Place your arms straight by your sides and use them for balance throughout the move. Keeping your abs tight, straighten your right knee, so your leg is at a 45-degree angle to the ground. Slowly lower back to start. Repeat for 10 reps and switch sides.

4. Glute Kickbacks
Start on your hands and knees. Make sure your spine is straight from top to bottom, and your butt isn’t sticking up. Balance on your hands and right leg and raise your left leg, keeping your knee bent so it comes up to the same level as your butt. Repeat for 10 reps and then switch sides.

5. Back Kicks
Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold on to a door frame or tall countertop. Curl one of your legs back behind you and aim to kick yourself in the butt (seriously!). When your heel is as high as you can go, tighten your behind for one count. Repeat for 10 reps on each side.

MOD Just curious,whats a good number of pushups and situps should someone do a day?




Hey girlie,

It depends on your personal fitness level at the moment! Try doing a round number tomorrow, like 25 or 30. Your muscles will start to burn because you're using them and working them out, then push beyond that and do 5 or 10 more. That way, you're helping yourself get stronger and have more endurance! The next day, try to do 5 more than the day before. Continue this trend until you can handle a lot of them! You always want to be challenging yourself in order to really get in shape Smile

I'm not very good with the body shape names, so i'm wondering what my shape is. I have very wide broad shoulders, a little waist,not huge hips, but hips big enough to say i'm quite curvy, and regular sized legs. Just curious




Hey girlie,

Since you have that tiny waist, you definitely match best with an hourglass shape! If we're getting really technical, you could also be considered a "cornet" since you have broad shoulders and a smaller bottom half - but since you do have hips and aren't totally straight on your bottom half, I'd go with the tips for hourglass chicas!

Another great moove is when you get down on your elbows and knees and extend one leg as high as it will go (with an open hip)and pulse. I pulse 35 times on each leg but it varies for your butt strength Tong Smile

i dont get how to do the first 3 excercises and lil confused on # 4 could someone plz help me thx

 

Hey girl, I'll try to explain them to ya!

 

1. You know how you lay stretched out on the floor or your bed with your head in your hands? Well do that but on your right side. Then lift your left leg up, and use your left hand to keep your balance.

 

2. This second one is tricky and a little more difficult. So get in the same position as the first one. Cross your left leg over your right one, bend it, and lift your right leg.

 

3. Lay on your back, with your knees bent and arms by your side. Straighten your right leg and lift it up and down.

 

4. Get on all fours, like a child would when they start crawling. Don't bend in your back, and while keeping your left leg bent move it back and forth.

Make sure they are clean and worn with a form-fitting, brightly colored top. And make sure you don't rely on this comfy look all the time! As long as you wear it every once in a while and walk with confidence/energy, you won't look like a slob Smile

Mod please Um..is this just for the butt or like for my legs to. Because the back,inner,and upper inner thighs are all bumpy and covered in fat. How do I make this go away. Like fast.

 

Hey girly, try doing leg lunges and jumping jacks to shed that extra fat. Drinking water and munching on fruits will help too. Smile Smile

Hey girl, you have to make time sometimes. I used to run as soon as I got home from school, for example. Schedule your workout or join an activity (a sport, for example) so it's built into your day.

MOD!!!!!!!!!! i love my family, but how do i get them to eat healthier and try new things? i found this really yummy looking recipe, but it has eggplant in it and my at first, my mom thought it looked good, but when she saw the eggplant, she said it was gross. i don't think eggplant could taste that bad, but i also don't wanna be too pushy, ya know? HELP!!

 

Hey chica, it can be a little difficult at first to change your family's eating habits. For one they're the ones buying the groceries and two when you're so used to eating certain types of food it can be hard to stop. But if you contine to be persistent, not nagging, but  bring healthy food up every once in a while, they'll eventually give in and try it. You might also have to be willing to bargain. Agree to take up another chore if your family decides to eat a healthy meal. Also print out pictures and keep the cooking shows on tv, to show them how good healthy food looks. Hope this helps ya!!!! It's not necessarily about making it bigger - it's about toning your butt muscles for a firmer, healthier shape! It could make your butt bigger with muscle, but chances are it will just make it firmer and leaner/more toned Smile

ok so i just now noticed that i think i pull my jeans up too high. i just wear them where i'm comfortable...but how high are my jeans suppose to go? i normally wear them to where they are right below my belly button. please help! thanksSmile oh and also lately the popular people are talking to me and giving me compliments,but i just feel like they are making fun of me,and it makes me feel awkward. i am pretty popular,and i'm really smart so im in all of their classes,and i'm fashionable,but for some reason i feel like they think i'm some weird nerd. how can i fix this??

 

Hey girlie,

It depends on the jeans! Some jeans are high waisted, others are a mid-rise, others are low rise or ultra low rise. Pay attention to the labels when you're buying them to get a better sense of where they should hit Smile


 

As for the popular people, be more confident! It might be that they're "making fun" of you, but chances are they wouldn't waste this much energy on doing so. They probably genuinely want to be your friend! Hold you head high and make small-talk with them. Don't feel the pressure to be interesting the whole time or have all eyes on you - but return their convo without being awkward and you won't give them any reason to make fun Smile
