We Tried It: Glam it up with sparkly liner and plump lashes

It’s super easy to fall into a beauty routine rut. Nude gloss, black mascara, bronzer. Repeat. But with the start of a new season and Homecoming on the horizon, we really wanted to shake things up. That’s why we were thrilled when Jenna Kidd’s liner and mascara duo landed in our hands.

It’s basically a one-stop shop for glam eyes: a silvery liner matched up with a itty bitty mascara. Hello, red carpet drama! Plus, this combo is neutral enough to match up with almost any frock, from your LBD to your fuchsia one-shoulder number.

We found the liner really had to dry before it lit up our eyes, so resist the temptation to glob on the glitter. Ya gotta be a bit patient with this sweetie. And while the mini mascara isn’t gonna replace our daily Lash Stiletto, it def amped the volume on the fringe. Plus, the entire package is teeny enough to toss in event the smallest of clutches. A dance-night must!

I am not allowed to wear eye makeup. How can I still have that sparkle around my eyes?

Hey girlie,

Try using a clear mascara to curl your eyelashes up and out from your eyes. It's not makeup, but it'll help open your eyes up and give you a more dramatic, fresh look!

Help! My parents wont let me wear makeup! I really want to! My mom said I could but then my dad said i couldn't!

Hey girlie,

Try to put yourself in dad's shoes here. You're his little girl so, while mom went through this before and knows what using makeup means, "using makeup" to dad means "losing his little girl" ... it's dramatic, but it's totally true. So try to chat with mom when she's alone sometime and ask her to talk to dad for you. Just ask her if she can rationalize this for him and tell him that you only want to use subtle makeup, not go overboard. I'm sure she'll be able to help you win him over!

MOD MOD MOD my school's homecoming dance is this Friday and i already have my dress, shoes, and accessories all picked out. i'm only in 7th grade but i since it's a special night i wanted to wear just a little makeup. i was thinking this light eyeshadow that matches my skin tone, maybe just one layer of mascara, and clear lip gloss, but what do you recommend for a first-timer?

Hey girl! I think you have a perfect plan there. You want to feel a little special on your night and get all dolled up, but stay simple. Less is always more when it comes to make up. MODMODMOD My Mom won't let me wear eye liner, how do I convince her I wont wear a ton, and now with the sparkle liner, it makes me want to wear it even more! What do I do?!
