Girls
who hit the Vans Warped Tour last summer might already know about
We
Are the In Crowd – the
punk-pop band from Poughkeepsie, NY with honest lyrics and two lead
singers, Tay Jardine and Jordan Eckes.
The
band’s now prepping to go on tour with All Time Low and Mayday
Parade across the United States and England, and their debut
full-length album Best
Intentions hits iTunes
(and stores across the country) today! We took a listen to the gang’s
10-track CD and are giving you a peek at what to expect.
The
band’s first single “Rumor Mill” takes a tricky situation
(being gossiped about) and turns it into a confidence-boosting
anthem. “What makes you think that You know what’s better for
me/I don’t think you wanna see what’s underneath the made up
version of me” are the kind of lyrics you’ll want to blast with
your iPod volume on all the way up and scream with your BFF after
school.
“All
Or Nothing” is punk’s version of “You Belong With Me.” We
couldn’t help but wonder if the band was blasting some Taylor Swift
when they wrote, “If you’d only shut your mouth and listen/You’d
see what you’ve been missing.”
The
band’s got some pretty killer breakup ballads, too. While “On
Your Own” tells the story of knowing when it’s time to leave
someone for good, “You’ve Got It Made” puts the sinking feeling
of watching your summer fling move on with another girl into a song.
“Tell me are you happy now, Tell me did it all work out/It’s too
late, it’s too late, But do you feel the same?” are totally
relatable lyrics.
Be sure
to check out Best
Intentions. Then come back
