What to do when you're sitting next to a cheater

 
In Spanish class, I’m the girl everyone asks for answers. A few days ago, the girl who sits behind me—who is really bad at Spanish, to tell the truth—asked if she could pull my desk back so she could put her feet up on my chair…right before a quiz. When we got our papers back, our teacher announced that I got a perfect grade. And so did she. I don’t want to tattle, but I also don’t want her to cheat off me. What should I do?

 

It’s possible that Spanish finally clicked for this chica who sits behind you. But it’s also possible that she sneaked a peek at your quiz and copied a few answers. There’s no need to become a tattletale in a sitch like this, though if you want to tell the teach, you certainly can. Nobody should get away with cheating.

 

So what to do? Be your usual, friendly self, but don’t be a doormat. The next time somebody asks you for an answer, offer to help them figure it out, say, “Oh, I don’t know about that one,” or change the subject.

 

And for your next quiz or test, it’s time to go on defense. Round your back over your desk and move your arms over the page as you fill in each answer so nobody else can steal a glance at your paper. You don’t need to accuse anyone to stop the cheating. Just make it impossible for them to cheat off of you.

I really don't know what to do. I'm going into high school next year, and I don't know where to go! If I go to public school (I've always been public) then I have to go to this school where a kid hung himself and there was a bomb threat and the school went into lock down. My other option is private. I have my eye of two Catholic private schools. I know people who are going to my public school, and one person who might go to one of the private schools. My dream has always been Ivy Leauge (I have the grades) but my dad doesn't think that I would get in under grad at the public. One student in the hisory of the school made it to Stanford. I don't know what to do!




If you have such big dreams i say you go for them!! Do all you can to achieve those dreams. So if that means going to private school will give you that chance then do it! IF you dont take the chance you may regret your decision. xoxo kerra

Hi, I need some advice... me and my best friends (There is 6 of us all together)are being bullied by another girl... she always denies if we tell. She pushes, and insults, hits, lies, kicks and is a proper bully. We are scared of her, to be honest. The thing is, she can be really nice one moment then a complete bully the next! It's so difficult... we decided today to officially dismiss and ignore her.. the thing is, I'm only so good an actor. Words hurt. Please, what should I do? We don't have a counsellor or anyone like that; everyone knows how she can be. Ugh, I'm so tired of this happening! Please give me some advice, thank you.xxx

You're on the right track!  If you don't have a counselor, be sure to tell an adult you care about about this problem - both in school (maybe a favorite teacher or principal) and at home (mom, dad, your guardian, or an older sibling). I'm glad that you've recognized that you should ignore this kind of friend, and have realized that it's better to not have her as a friend than to continue a relationship with her - that takes a lot of maturity. MOD MOD MOD I havent gotten my period yet, but i heard when you get it that you can get a lot of headaches. I have gotten discharge though. Today I found a lot in my underwear and I had a major headache. Does discharge give you a headache too? Or was it just a coincidence? Thanks

 

Hey missy, it could have been just a coincidence. Different girls experience different things during their periods. Some get really bad cramps, others bad headaches, a few girls even throw up. On my period I don't experience any of those things. At the most I get a stomach ache, and even that isn't bad. So it really depends on your bod. Just be sure to have some medicine and maybe a heating pad just in case you do start to feel a little ill on your period. Hope this helps!!! Smile Smile

I usually cover the questions I've already answered with a book or blank piece of paper. But that doesn't work when teachers don't allow anything out....
