Deep breaths, babe! Everything’s going to be just fine. Getting your braces removed is a li’l scary ‘cause it’s a long appointment and those suckers are glued to your teeth, after all. But don’t worry; while you might feel some discomfort as your orthodontist removes the wires and brackets, you should never be in full-out pain. He (or she) will have to scrape and chip off the remaining cement, and the pressure put on your mouth can be quite uncomfortable. Focus on breathing through your nose, one breath at a time, and you’ll get through it, I promise.
So calm down, sweetie, and get ready to work that grin! Good luck and congrats!

I had braces for about 2 years and when I got them off my teeth felt really weird, only because I was used to having the braces there. My orthodontist pretty much burned the glue of...well....sanded it I guess. If you breath through your mouth it doesn't smell bad from the glue be sanded off. When you get your braces off it's not that bad....it doesn't hurt at all just pushes/pulls agains your teeth. After you have them off you can eat anything unless you have a retainer that's glued in, then stay away from suckers and stuff that could pull it off......I had one a week after and my retainer came off so I had to go get it fixed
