My friends make fun of my hair down there!

 
My friends always make fun of my hair down there. They always ask if I’ve shaved “the forest” yet. It’s annoying! I keep it neat, don’t get me wrong, but my mom told me it’s supposed to be there. What should I do?

 

Oy! Besties really are the best, but sometimes you’ve just gotta tell ‘em to mind their own business. How you keep your hair down there (or anywhere else on your body, for that matter) is 100-percent your business.

 

Pubic hair is totally natural and it is suppose to be there and it’s not disgusting! Your pubic hair protects the sensitive skin surrounding your private parts from getting irritated by your clothes. Trust me, if you shaved yourself bald down there and then put on a pair of jeans, you’d notice a huge difference.

 

To shave or not to shave (or wax or otherwise remove hair…) is a decision that can only (and should only!) be made by you. What you choose to do with your bod is nobody else’s concern. Don’t feel pressured to change your ways just ‘cause your friends rag on your habits. My advice? Tell ‘em to shut up, then change the subject.

Ok so Im just starting middle school and we have to change into our gym clothes, in the locker room. But i don't feel comfortable changing around every girl! So got any tips?
Also I have a male homeroom teacher, thing is I never know when my period could start. So got any other tips where its not awkward (just in case if I need to tell him whats wrong)in case i get it in his class!

Hey! Have you ever been to sleep away camp? i sort of learned how to change in front of people there. You just sort of have to put clothes on over your clothes and take off the ones underneath using the new clothes as cover? It's hard to explain. I would just always carry a pad with you in your purse or pocket and if you notice it's happening just go to the bathroom like you normally would to change into the pad. There's no need to clue your teacher in unless you feel more comfortable that way.

This is extremely awkward and embarrasing for me, but I need to ask. I have alot of hair "down there", and it falls out alot! I notice the hair falling out in the shower, in my panties, in my hands when I wash down there, and on the floor when I change! It's freaking me out and I'm too embarassed and afraid to talk to my parents...let alone my male doctor! Please help!

Don't worry, that's totally normal! The hair "down there" is usually wiry and coarse, so when it rubs up against your undies it can sometimes fall out. It's not a big deal! Smile To cut down on this, you could always trim the strands a bit to keep them a little more manageable. But that's a personal decision and totally up to you!

Okay so this is like the 3rd time I've asked this but no one replayed. Well here we go: so about a week ago I noticed I was getting hair on my vagina, should I tell my mom? Also if I don't is it ok to shave it anyway or should I ask my mom before I do? How would I ask? And finally I saw u mention 'Nair' before, what is it and how does it work? Hey chica! If you feel comfortable talking about it, you can tell your mom. I don't think you have to though. It's totally normal, and whether you shave or not is your preference. Nair is basically a lotion that gets rid of hair. Personally, I think it's a little messy and doesn't always leave you as smooth as shaving does.
