This girl and I used to be really close, but she started
hanging with a fast crowd when we went to high school. Well, she’s throwing a
Halloween party next weekend and I’m guessing it’s gonna be pretty wild. My
parents don’t want me to go (and I kinda agree that it would be a bad idea).
But my friend wants me to lie to my ‘rents and come anyway. What should I do?
The answer to this one is simple, babe: Don’t go! If your
gut is telling you this party is a dud for whatever reason, call up your other
chicas and make different plans. Why?
It’s not worth making your parents angry
Chances are your parents are going to find out you went to
the party somehow, right? And when they find out, chances are they’re gonna be
seriously upset. After all, if you go,
you’re doing something they specifically asked you not to do, and that’s a
no-no. Getting grounded—or worse—for attending a party you’re not dying to go
to anyway is just plain silly.
You could get in serious trouble
If these kids your friend is hanging with are into drugs or
drinking or simply gettin’ rowdy on the weekends, your chance of landing in the
doghouse skyrockets. Even if you’re minding your own business, being at a party
where illegal activity is occurring could get ya in trouble with the police,
and they could get called for any number of things. Watch out for yourself,
first and foremost, and opt for a safer way to celebrate the holiday.
You could have way more fun
On one hand, you could sneak out and go to this party…and
sit around while a bunch of other kids wreak havoc (or get in trouble). Or, you
could spend the night hanging out with your hunnies and having a very happy
Halloween. Throw a party of your own. Go trick-or-treating (or take your sibs
around the neighborhood). Watch scary movies. Hand out candy. You’ve got
options here, babe! It’s time to be smart and make the most of them.
