We asked Y-O-U about your favorite DIY costumes, and boy
did you give us the dirt! From creepy to cool to outta-the-box, here are our
favorites:
“Last year, I was Flo from the Progressive commercials. I
got a white shirt and wore sweat pants, and got a white apron, wrote
"Progressive" on the front, and I printed out her name tag and button
from the Progressive website, and wore a Bump It and red lipstick. I got so
many compliments.” – Zoe
“A zombie Taylor Swift. Add tire tracks to your outfit to
look run over.” – Hannah
“Probably an autograph page: just white jeans, a white
t-shirt with the word “Autographs” and lots of sharpies! My friends had a blast
writing all over me.” – Audrey
“A toothpaste tube one of my friends wore. It was cool! She
had an old lampshade for the cap and a perfectly sewn up sheet with the printed
word toothpaste on it. She looked awesome! Toothpaste can be awesome, right?” -
Amber
“Venus Fly Trap. I wore all green clothing, cut a hole in
the bottom of a huge plastic round bin (for the pot) and glued fake plants
along the inside edge of the pot. Then, I took 2 pieces of stiff fabric and
spray painted them green. I stuck red/pink fabric on the top of the bottom one,
and cut out white triangles of fabric and stuck them on the edges for teeth.
Then I connected the two pieces by rope so that my head was in between the two
pieces! Everyone still talks about that costume.” - Anna
“My craziest celeb costume inspiration was dressing up as
Adam Sandler from Big Daddy. I wore the
"Suba Steve" costume in 5th grade and won my classroom costume
contest!” - Allison
