I am too short, and everybody calls me “Shrimp.” I try to eat healthful food, but it doesn’t seem to help at all. Any suggestions? – Shorty

 

I am too tall and look older than I am. I have started my period, and the other girls in my class haven’t. Guys in my class act as if they’re scared of me or something. – Too Tall

 

Dear Short and Tall,

You’re both fine the way you are. Work on accepting your height because you can’t change it. And remember, everyone grows at their own pace. Eventually, short kids stretch a few inches, and tall girls stop growing. I know it’s hard when girls and boys grown at such different rates, but just hang in there! Puberty requires patience.

i am 12 turning 13 in a couple of months and i am 5ft. 8 in. every body in my class is shorter than me by a lot i feel so weird standing next to them (trust me on this it is not always fun being tall)

I should be getting my period soon and for the last couple days my stomach will hurt( sometimes like im going to throw up). Its not like my whole stomach hurting its just the lower part. Do you think this is coming with my period or is it something I should be more concerned about?

Hey girlie,

That sounds like cramps to me Smile Sometimes they're totally non-existent and sometimes they cause nausea, back pain, and even headaches. So just because it feels more intense than usual doesn't mean anything is wrong! <3

i am a naturaly happy,bubbly,and energetic 17 year old girl but my clothing stlye is in a little bit of a rut. i kinda like the whole punk look with dark colored pants, a small chain, boots, vibratntly patterned and colored t-shirts, and some type of light jacket pullover, but my parents think that as soon as i put on these types of clothing i'll turn from a happy,bubbly,and energetic good girl into a gothic punk bad girl. How should i explain to my parents that this isnt the case and that i just want to mix up my style a little bit? Also what would be a good way to explain to them that i can get these pieces of clothing cheaply at an army surplus store,thrift store, ect... without them worrying about me spending all my money an clothing and going broke buying clothing?
