Tired of short hair? Our top-6 instant fixes

Whether you’re growing out a bob or you love your short locks, sometimes having short hair can feel like a drag. There’s no need to be jealous of your friends’ longer tresses, though – cropped cuts take a LOT less work and can be just as fun! With these tricks, you’ll be armed with cute cut confidence to spare.

Accessorize. When Emma Watson went for a dramatic pixie cut, she always upped her glam factor with jeweled headbands, dangly earrings and statement-making necklaces. Headbands, bows and jewelry show off your girly side, without the effort of styling your hair.

Clip in some extensions. This may sound scary if you’ve never worn extensions before, but the gals at the beauty store will help you find a shade and thickness that works with your actual hair. Clips give you the option of quick color or a fun feather, and are much less damaging than permanent ones. Snip ‘em to your hair length, and change them up throughout the week!

Try a dramatic side part. This is especially great with pixie cuts, but can work with bobs or lobs (that’s a long bob), too. If you normally part in the middle, switch it up! If you already side part your hair, try a deeper part or switch to the other side for an instant new ‘do. Extra credit? Go for the still-cool zig-zag part.

Go for a small braid. This doesn’t work with a pixie cut, but if you’ve got a bob that’s at least ear-length it’s a great way to look pretty, fast. Create a couple tiny ones throughout your hair, or grab a two-inch section in front and weave away, girlies!

Try bangs. If your hair is short enough, you may be able to fake blunt or side bangs without any cutting. If not, it’s still a great idea to see how you look with bangs while your hair is short – that way, if you don’t like them, you’ll spend less time growing them out.

Do the wave. Shower at night, and twist a 2-inch section of wet hair around itself until it forms a small coil. Pin to your head with a bobby pin, and repeat with the rest of your tresses. Let dry overnight and in the morning, shake free gorgeous waves! Spritz in a light-hold spray to make it last the whole day.

What do you do to spruce up short hair? Blog it out, babes.

Hey mod im going to the movies tomorrow 4 my grandmas birthday so what should i wear and how should i do my hair? ps its chilly Thanks!

Hey babe!

I like to keep it comfy on days with the fam, so I'd say a cardigan, a plain t-shirt, jeans, and a cute scarf! And I think it's super pretty to wear this look with curls or pin straight. Have fun! xoxox

Modmodmod!!!!
What r some good myth/fantasy type of books. When I was younger I read the Percy Jackson books all the time. R there any other fantasy kinda books like that!?! Read star-crossed and that was good! Thanks!!!!!

Hey Girl,

We recommend The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Claire, it's about people with special powers in New York, to start out with. Fantasy books are super popular, so if you check out the teen or Sci-Fi section of your bookstore, you'll be sure to find lots! Think about reading some old classics, too, like the Lord of the Rings series or The Once and Future King (about King Arthur). These reads will transport you to a seriously magical place!
