MaryMargaret O'Neill proves kids really are heroes

 
You might not be brandishing a magic wand at Hogwarts or reading minds like Edward Cullen, but you certainly do have a super power up your sleeve: the power of giving. Twelve-year-old MaryMargaret O'Neill is trying to spread the word—and with her nonprofit organization Kids Are Heroes, she’s doing a darn good job of it.

 

To date, Kids Are Heroes has 240 “heroes” around the world, from the U.S. to England to Indonesia. Its website, kidsareheroes.org, shares stories from tweens and teens who are actively making a big different in their communities and across the globe. The message? It doesn’t matter how young you are, how much money you have or how many important people you know. Anyone can help save the world, anyone at all.

 

Do you want to see for yourself just how incredible the power of giving is? Log on to kidsareheroes.org and take inspiration from what other tweens ‘n’ teens your age are doing. What are some ways I can make better guy friends? I talk to guys in school but I have no guy friends that I hang out with and stuff. And also if a guy uses your name when he talks to you could that mean he likes you?

It's true that could be a sign, but try not to rely ONLY on that little piece of info. Take note of his body language, his tone, how he acts with you vs. how he acts with other girls, compliments/flirting, etc. Smile As for becoming better friends, try to relate with guys based on common interests. Do you and your friend from biology loooooooove soccer? Are you secretly TOTALLY into video games? Whatever it is, bond over those things! Keep at it and you'll grow closer over time. Then you can chat online, text, and even suggest hanging out. It all happens gradually!
