MOD MOD MOD!!!!!!!
1. my mom is soooo cheap. she insists that we go shopping at resale stores. any ways to make "hand-me-down" clothing look good?
2. my mom got me this aeropostale shirt and its long sleeved, lime green, and it makes me look absolutely hideous and shapeless. any way to make it look good?
3. i got some super duper girly shirts- only problem- im a tomboy. any way to make super girly shirts look a little better and tomboyish?




Hey babe,

1) She might not be "cheap," girl...she might be trying to save money because we're all in a financial situation these days. Lots of parents are having a tough time figuring out how to stretch their money so they can pay bills while also taking care of their family, so the fact that she's taking you shopping at all is something to be grateful for. Try pairing your hand-me-downs with your favorite pieces, bright colors, cool and cheap accessories like statement necklaces or light scarves, etc. Wearing head-to-toe hand-me-down can feel weird and unnatural since it isn't your style, but mixing with pieces you already have will make it feel like your own!

2) Definitely pair it with a pair of trim pants, like skinny jeans. Try a structured blazer over top to give you some shape! Smile

3) Again, it'll be all about the other pieces you wear it with! Try a pair of cropped boyfriend jeans with your girly top, which will balance out the femininity with some slouchy boyish charm. Wearing girly shirts with a plain gray hoodie over top is also a way to tone them down.
