And the winner of GL's first-ever Fab Fiction Contest is...

 
In our August/September issue, we announced our first-ever Fab Fiction Contest. A slew of you entered and we read and re-read every single story we were sent. GL editors and interns picked their top-15 and finally, their top-3 short stories. And then celeb writer Kirsten Miller, author of All You Desire and The Eternal Ones, selected the winner.

 

Which story reigns supreme? Drum roll, please…

 

The winner of the Fab Fiction Contest is KISS AND DON’T TELL by 12-year-old Cobie Ray! You can read Cobie’s ah-mazing story in the February/March 2012 issue of Girls’ Life!

 

Didn’t win? Don’t fret! We’ll be contacting runners-up this week via email (so check that inbox!) and publishing our other top picks right here on girlslife.com. Thanks for sending in so many stellar submissions, sweeties! This was a difficult choice…and we can’t wait to do it again next year.

I read it and I would like to say my mom found it inappropriate. She almost didn't re-subscribe because of that story! Can you please post more suitable things for girls at this age?

Can't wait to read!!!Smile I know it rocks already!!! I cant believe some ppl dont think 12 year olds can write, feh!! Im 12, i write, its all fun!!! Dont wanna name names but yes 12 year olds can write and win!! I know kids younger than me that have kissed. Besides, its all for fun, just a little contest. Congrats Cobie! Wow I can't believe a tweleve year old won! You got some real talent Cobie!But to all those haters out there, please refrain from posting mean messages on here, you'll just make Cobie feel terrible. Oh and why are some people posting that they think she's cheating? Why can't people accept the fact that there were many stories submitted, but they could only pick one. I submitted a story, but I didn't complain that I didn't win.
