Top holiday movies to watch with your family and friends

Check these out, too...

With all the extra time you’ll be spending with your sibs, cousins and friends this season, you’ll probably be watching more than a few flicks. And what better way to get in the holiday spirit than with a festive movie? Here are some of our favorites!

It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)

As far as Christmas classics go, this film really is the best. If you want a movie that’s a little deeper than the staple Frosty the Snowman movie, this is a great choice to watch with your family. It’s one that everyone from your grandparents to your parents to you and your sibs can enjoy!

A Rugrats Chanukah (1992)

OK, this isn’t a movie, but it’s one of the best Rugrats (Nickelodeon’s old hit series) episodes ever. If you’re babysitting younger sibs and cousins, this is a great choice because it’s short enough that they won’t get bored and you’ll have a small break from playing board games. Rugrats also has a great Kwanzaa episode if that’s a holiday your family celebrates.

A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)

Your parents probably grew up with the Peanuts and would love to watch this classic with you. And if you and your sibs love Snoopy and his pals, you’ll love this movie too!

Elf (2003)

This film stars Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel—before she was famous!—and is a great comedy to watch with your friends or cousins. Your parents probably won’t think the jokes are as funny as you do, so save this one for a kids’ night in.

The Year Without a Santa Claus (1974)

It wouldn’t be the holiday season without a Claymation movie, and this is a great option if you’ve already seen the Rudolph series way too many times. This film features the classic Miser brothers and the “Snow Miser” and “Heat Miser” songs. They’re fun…but be prepared for your younger sibs and cousins to sing them for the rest of the night.

What are your favorite holiday movies? Blog about it, babes.

Mod Mod Mod Mod Mod So for New Year Eve I'm going over to my Aunt and Uncles. They have 2 daughters one is a year younger and one is 3 years old. So the older one can like drive and stuff when I still haven't started yet so she's like "better then me" in a way. The younger one is obbsessed with Facebook and she's also obbsessed with herself. SoI'm going to be bored the option of briging a friend is out. What should I do???? I don't want to waste my New Years having a horrible time!

Hey chicky, bring your ipod, laptop or a book. Since you can't bring a friend, see if you can go to a friend's house. Hope you have a good New Year's!! Smile Smile

MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried to watch "A Year Without Santa Claus" with the children I babysit but the oldest (8 year old) loves it while his younger twin brother+sister were scared to death of the characters. Then the oldest made fun of them and kept re-playing it to the parts where its ONLY the "snow miser" and the "heat miser". It drives me crazy, he just gets pure pleasure out of bullying his lil bro+sis, what do I do? Also, I am wondering where I can buy the "Rugrats" Kwanzaa episode on DVD. The children I will be babysitting Friday celebrate Kwanzaa and I thought it would be a treat for the little ones Smile

Hey girl, just be sure you take the movie out so he can't replay it. Next time maybe you could bring a selection of movies, so if they little ones get scared you can always watch something else. Try Amazon or Ebay for the Rugrats dvd. Hope this helps! Smile Smile
