Mixed signals: Why your crush is flirting in the friend zone


 
A guy I have liked for a while used to always tell me how he had always liked me too, but now he says he wants to be best friends yet he still flirts with me a lot! What is going on?

Decoded: Boys can be very unpredictable and you will never know what they are really thinking, and sometimes they don’t even know. He may think one way about you and a week later feel a completely different way.


Your Move: Tell him straight up how you feel and ask him how he feels about you, most of the time. It may be stressful, but give it some time and just keep flirting to show you are still interested, and maybe he will come to his senses and realize that he does like you. If not, there's someone else out there.

so me and my next door neighbor were really close! like brother and sister for about 5 years! and then when we started middle school, he started ignoring me and we don't talk anymore:/ i decided to text him to confess to him that i used to have a crush on him when we were talking to see if it would make a difference and all he said was"we should start talking again i guess..." so i asked"why are you saying that now? and he said he didn't know. we still don't talk and we're going into high school this year! why isn't he talking to me?

So there's this guy that I really like. He's in 4 of my classes and we talk pretty much every day. We flirt a lot, and I catch him staring often. School's out in less than 4 days. Any tips on getting him to ask me out before school ends? (and please nothing like touching his arm, he knows I'm not the type to do that) Please respond soon!

 

hey! I think you should ask him on a date. Nothing too dramatic, just a movie or ice cream or something. He'll get that you like him, but you don't have to make a big deal out of telling him Smile

Hey mod there's this guy in my class that I really like (I go to a private school so there's only 1 class of each grade) we have the same sense of humor and he always talks to me and tries to make me laugh. Sometimes he even sits with me and my friends at lunch only he never really talks to them just mostly me. I'm not sure if he likes me because I found out he liked this other girl and Im kinda fat. What do I do I realllllllllyyyyyyy like him.

It sounds like he really enjoys your company and likes spending time around you, so that's a GREAT start! We can't tell exactly how he feels because we don't know him, but this is a good sign. Talk to him even more and try to flirt a little - in subtle ways, like teasing him or complimenting him. Enjoy your chemistry and keep trying to flirt a little more obviously each day. If he seems into it and responds in a flirty way, that's an even better sign! Smile

hey, well I said hello on facebook to my crush to see if he would say hi or log off. And we haven't spoke in person I just found him nice looking. We went to the same martial arts until I stopped two months ago. Well we ended up talking for an hour! We have the same fave band, play he same instruments we get on so well! He is a male version of me! Well we talked for an hour! I actually thought If he said hi I would have to say everything but he asked most questions and everything and answered most things in like a minute or less! Should I do something ? He found out I liked him ages ago but I cleared it up that I didn't know him n I knew we couldn't. He's not online much so should I invite him somewhere or ask for his number? I don't want to scare him! Oh and one last thing MOD what does it mean see you later does he want to see me or was he just saying bye? THANKS MODX

Hi MOD! I haven't had a boyfriend since first grade and now i'm in seventh. I've always been the type of person that likes boys but wasn't really trying to get a boyfriend but now I really want a boyfriend but I suck at flirting and I don't have the courage to try some of the tips on this website. I just really feel bad about my love life cause all of my friends have some type of romantic story to tell about someone liking them and stuff, but I'm always the one with nothing. maybe it's the guys at my school, but I almost feel like I'm unlikeable. Do you have any advice? Cause I sure could use some.

The first thing to do is know that you're dateable and lovable. Wanting a relationship is completely natural and many people crave it, but wanting one to know one's self worth isn't a good idea because only your attitude can boost your self confidence. Besides, if you're feeling low on self esteem and get a mean boyfriend, for instance, then you'll feel worse than before. Once you see and believe you're pretty amazing, you just might surprise yourself by how much courage you have when you try to muster it up. I'd suggest talking to and becoming friends with guys and finding out if there's someone that has all the qualities you're looking for, and then maybe flirt with him and see if he asks you out. Smile
