Check these out, too...
The first step is to not worry! We’ve all been there, and it’s probably more noticeable to you than it is to everyone else. It’s totally normal to get a pimple once in a while. It stinks when they pop up right before important events, but stressing over it will only aggravate things more.
Make sure you’re washing your face with a gentle wash in the morning, and use an exfoliating scrub (and makeup remover) at night. To fight acne, try a face wash that has salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Clearasil washes are great for immediate fixes, so try something like their Rapid Action Face Scrub, which starts working after just 12 hours. Your pimple may not go away completely, but it will definitely be a lot less noticeable.
You’ll also want to follow each face wash with a moisturizer. It’s a common myth that people with oily or breakout-prone skin shouldn’t use moisturizer because it will make your skin greasy, but the opposite is actually true! If you don’t use moisturizer, your skin feels dry and starts producing more oils than it needs to, which causes pimples. Clean and Clear’s Dual Action Moisturizer is great for combination skin, but if your skin dries out with too many acne products, stick to a non-medicated, oil-free moisturizer.
If your pimple is still visible by the time of your event, try covering it with a light amount of powder or concealer. Don’t overdo it, though – uneven skin tones due to concealer are often more noticeable than the original blemish.
