I have a zit--just in time for NYE!

Check these out, too...

  • Your easiest morning skincare routine--found!
  • Your 5-minute nighttime skincare routine
  • Ew, I have little bumps on my arms!
  • The $1 tinted moisturizer we can't live without
  • Fast fixes: 3 products that'll fix your blemish overnight
I have this really gross pimple on my face, and I have this super important event coming up! What are some quick and easy ways to get it to go away?

The first step is to not worry! We’ve all been there, and it’s probably more noticeable to you than it is to everyone else. It’s totally normal to get a pimple once in a while. It stinks when they pop up right before important events, but stressing over it will only aggravate things more.

Make sure you’re washing your face with a gentle wash in the morning, and use an exfoliating scrub (and makeup remover) at night. To fight acne, try a face wash that has salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Clearasil washes are great for immediate fixes, so try something like their Rapid Action Face Scrub, which starts working after just 12 hours. Your pimple may not go away completely, but it will definitely be a lot less noticeable.

You’ll also want to follow each face wash with a moisturizer. It’s a common myth that people with oily or breakout-prone skin shouldn’t use moisturizer because it will make your skin greasy, but the opposite is actually true! If you don’t use moisturizer, your skin feels dry and starts producing more oils than it needs to, which causes pimples. Clean and Clear’s Dual Action Moisturizer is great for combination skin, but if your skin dries out with too many acne products, stick to a non-medicated, oil-free moisturizer.

If your pimple is still visible by the time of your event, try covering it with a light amount of powder or concealer. Don’t overdo it, though – uneven skin tones due to concealer are often more noticeable than the original blemish.

And remember to have fun – chances are, your friends probably won’t even notice you have a pimple, and if they do, they won’t care!

Again... The picture at the top of the article is inappropriate... Can you guys PLEASE use photos that do not show seven to twelve year old's doing things that they shouldn't even worry about? You guys are just adding to the media fire of little girls acting like they're twenty.

my mom wont let me wear makeup
i think she thinks i will go lady gaga overboard but i wont
the only thing I'm aloud to wear now is lip gloss. How can i persuade her to let me wear make up
thx!!!

Hey girl,

Ultimately, you have to respect your mom -- there will be plenty of time to wear makeup later on in your life! For now, respond to her by being mature and not fighting, and maybe that will make her see that you're grown up enough to wear it!

Whew!
I'm so glad that you guys finally mention

I think it's really important for teenage girls to know this, because it's so true and no one believes it!
