In 2011, we saw the rise and fall of
tons of trends, and fell in head over heels with so many of them. It
was hard to narrow it down, but here are the top 10 fashion trends we
loved in 2011. Which ones did you love the most?
1. Colorblocking
Spotted on everything from dresses to
shoes, colorblocking was definitely the trend to be seen in this
fall. So mod!
2. Rose Gold

This blush twist on classic gold gave
new life to jewelry boxes everywhere! Rose gold was the perfect
accessory for a romantic look—and makes skin positively glow.

3. Maxi Skirts
In 2011, it was obvious that maxi
skirts were no longer reserved for librarians! Thanks to this trend,
we’re in love with full-on volume. Va va voom!
3. Lace
We got in touch with our feminine sides
with lacy skirts, tops and accessories. It’s so pretty and sweet,
who could resist?
5. Feathers
From earrings to clip-in extensions,
the feather trend really flew off in the fashion world. It’s the
perf way to be wild without rocking that old standby, leopard print.
6. Capes
Seen for years on our fave witches and
wizards at Hogwarts, capes became hot even for muggles this year. We
love the drama a cape adds to any look.
7. Fascinators
The Brits have inspired lots of fashion
trends, and thanks to the Duchess herself, we went crazy for
fascinators! These lacy, feathery hairpieces were just what we needed
to banish boring hair.
8. Chevron
The chevron print took over our closets
(and homes) with Missoni’s exclusive line for Target, and we
couldn’t stop snatching up the loud pattern. Bring on all things
graphic!

9. Sweater shorts
Sweater shorts were made for the chica
who couldn’t say goodbye to her fave shorts when summer ended
(that’s us!). With a pair of tights and sweet ankle boots, knit
shorts are perfect for chillier weather.
10. Rainbow denim
This year’s surge of rainbow denim
was such a breath of fresh air from our old blues. From jewel tones
to metallics, we couldn’t get enough of brightly colored jeans.
