7 cute products keep your skin glowy

Check these out, too...

  • Get a pro pedi at home
  • Spring hair bling under $10
  • Get gorgeous spring date night makeup
  • Beauty Spy: Fresh faced and simple Ann Marie E.
In the winter, skin tends to take a turn for the worse. You’re not spending as much time in the sun, which means less UV rays and harmful sun exposure, but it also means you’re probably a lot paler. And with the cold’s drying effects on skin, your face might be looking a little lackluster. Check out these products to fake a realistic, not overdone, summer glow, even in the dead of winter!

This blush comes in 13 colors that range from pink tones to bronze ones, and at $4 each, you can afford to try more than one shade. If you’re not sure which is right for you, a warm peach will work on most skin tones. And, this one comes with a handy blush brush in case you don’t have one already!

CoverGirl Cheekers Blush, $4, ulta.com

If you only wear a li'l bit, bronzer can give your skin a believable – not fake – glow, no matter what season it is. This one comes in three different shades, and two of them include a light shimmer for some extra sparkle. Try applying bronzer on the parts of your face that the sun would hit – your forehead, nose and cheekbones – for a healthy, sunkissed look.

NARS Bronzing Powder, $33, sephora.com

This nifty palette includes a blush, a bronzer and a mirror – all for just three bucks! When used correctly, you can wear both shades at the same time for a natural look – use the bronzer on your cheekbones and the blush on the apples of your cheeks for a sun-kissed glow.

E.L.F. Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder, $3, eyeslipsface.com

If powder blushes and bronzers aren’t your thing, you’ll love this creamy cheek stain. Inspired by the glow you get after spending a day on the beach, this product comes in seven awesome shades that work year round. Bonus: they’re scented with yummy flavors like grapefruit!

Becca Beach Tint, $25, beccacosmetics.com

Bonne Bell’s handy blush kits each include two powder blush shades, so you can use the lighter one now and save the deeper one for the summertime. They have a handy flip case and each comes with a brush so you can take them on the run.

Bonne Bell Blush ‘n Go Natural Blush, $5, bonnebell.com

If you’ve never used blush before, this is a great starter product, because the color adjusts itself to work with your skin’s natural tone. That way, you don’t have to worry about applying the wrong color! The blush comes in two shades, coral and pink, but the coral one is easier to use in the fall because it’s warmer and has a touch of gold shimmer, so you won’t need to add bronzer.

Stila Custom Color Blush in Coral, $20, stilacosmetics.com

This lightweight formula won’t weigh your skin down, which is great if your skin can be sensitive or oily. The bronzer comes in three shades, light, medium and dark, so you don’t have much guessing to do to pick what’s right for you. And it comes with a bronzer brush for flawless application!

Maybelline Fit Me Bronzer, $5, ulta.com

MOD MOD MOD I'm a tween and I have a lot of zits on my forehead. They're really small, except for a big one here and there, BUT the whole area is red. I've tried Buf-Puf, Neutragena, and Oxy! When I wash my face, I only get more red! What's the dealio, and can you help me? Thnx. Smile

Hey girl, there's a chance it could be rosacea, which is caused by blood vessels breaking and is easily treatable with antibiotics. That's more common in older women, though, so your best bet is to see a dermatologist about this one.

MOD MOD MOD MOD! Please!!!!!!!
Hi! Well I <3 make up and own tons but I'm not allowed to wear itCry I am thirteen and have slightly pale skin and dark dark brown hair. I have dark circles under my eyes sometimes so I sometimes wear consealer. I am allowed to wear lip gloss but that's it. Maybe once or twice a month I will wear blush but I don't think my mom really notices. Sometimes i get really bored with my face. I think that my mom doesnt want me to wear make up because she doesnt like me looking older and mature. I wish I could wear eyeliner because it makes my eyes pop. Do you have any suggestions for make up that might get my mom's OK? I also wanted to wear some blush and pink eyeliner for v day....how can I get my moms permission? And if not, do you have any suggestions on how I can change up my look when I get bored? Thanks! <3 u guys!

Hey girlie,

Mom is probably saying "no" to makeup because of the way it looks, not the ingredients in it. So giving you new types of makeup to try, natural recipes, etc. won't work. Try talking to her and telling her you totally understand her rule - you don't want to wear a lot of makeup either, because it looks unnatural and fake. But ask her if you'd be able to compromise. If you could wear makeup to school one day a week in a natural and fresh way, she gets total approval and you won't ask about wearing it more often, you'll do an extra chore, whatever you think will do the trick. Offer to show her your best natural look! To achieve that natural look, you should actually avoid eyeliner because it defines your eyes in a dramatic way. For school, go for an eyeshadow on the lash line in a neutral tone, like chocolate brown. Blend it into the lash line and up onto your lid. Dust a pale shimmery gold or a pastel pink over the entire lid. Finish with your normal blush and lipgloss combo - just enough to make a difference! To change up your look, you could always change the color of your lip gloss. That actually makes a big change: light pink vs. cranberry vs. nude tones can change your whole look Smile
