Okay, so I have a boyfriend and he's AMAZING when he's not around this girl in my grade who's rather flirty. She won't leave him alone and always flirts but if I go anywhere near my boyfriend, she casually "walks away" but when it's just me and him, he's totally fine and sweet. What's going on?

Uh-oh, chica. Sounds like this girl is starting to encroach on your man. As for right now, she's definitely towing the line between "okay" and "not cool."

Is your boyfriend actually doing anything wrong? Or is it all this girl's doing? Is it harmless flirting? Or is it serious macking on your man flirting? There are a lot of little factors that are just as important in finding out what's going down here.

Either way, you're going to need to have a face-to-face chat with somebody. If you're boyfriend is an active participant in all of the flirtatiousness, then he needs to own up to it. Let him know that it makes you uncomfortable. If he's a good BF worth keeping around and there's really nothing suspicious happening behind your back, then he'll understand without making a fuss.

On the other hand, if he's not the real problem, and instead it's simply this chick getting involved where she doesn't belong, then you've gotta' go right to the source. Pull her aside next time you see her and let her know that you have no problem with her being friends with your boy, but you'd really appreciate it if she'd step back a bit with the flirting.

You need to find out what is going on. She sounds like she has a thing for your bf and that can happen. If your guy is cute and bf material you may have to say something to her. Talk to your bf, see if he will avoid her if he doesnt he may like the attention. Then you may have to just tell her to stay away from your man.

But flirty and being flirty is something we all do whether its with a single guy or one who is taken. Not only is it normal its fun but we have to know when to stop.

My bgf and i always text and the only problem is we text more than him and his gf do. Is this really weird because I think she doesn't like it when I do that because I think she thinks i like him and I dont want to be like that cause I dont like him..at all.. Im only texting him because hes really good friends with my crush and hes helping my crush and I get together. Should I stop texting him??

Well if hes helping you get with another guy then I dont see the issue. If you two are flirting then its bad. Just dont cross any lines. Good luck! xoxo kerra

i'm in a play and i just got the cast list emailed to me yesterday. we have character descriptions and mine is a "beatnik"...what is that? i heard it's kinda like a 50's slut. is that true? thank you!!!!!

Hey girl,

That's not true...at all. A "Beatnik" was a member of the Beat Generation, a movement in the 1950's and 1960's started by young, anti-conformist thinkers. It's also a word used to describe the books and music of the time - the artists were all about being anti-materialistic and searching for truth in the world, in their lives, and in their own minds/souls. Traditionally (and a little stereotypically), beatniks are shown wearing all black, sunglasses, attending poetry readings or cafes to have deep conversations. There were a lot of artists involved in the movement. Try reading some books by Jack Kerouac (they're a different style for sure, but stick with it) to get the essence of the mindset at the time. It was all about enlightenment, trying to find satisfaction and your "place" in the world, etc. Some people relate the beatniks to the hippies, which is I guess where the "50's slut" part comes from - both groups were very free-spirited and might live that way, trying everything once and getting themselves into situations with alcohol/drugs/sex. But there's so much more to it than that! This can be a really fun part to play for you - do some research and embrace it!
