How To: Get newsworthy newspaper nails


 
After hearing your cries for a how-to on this hot new nail art trend, we hit up nail guru Hannah of Pixie Polish for her expert tips. Her quirky twist with a crossword puzzle couldn’t be simpler. Check out her step-by-step video below.


Hannah’s tips to you: Hold down firmly for approx. 15 seconds, then remove paper slowly. You can peel up a tiny bit to check if it transferred to your nail. If not, try dabbing more alcohol onto the paper and hold down again.

For this nail art, how dry does the nail polish underneath need to be for it to work?




Hey girl,

Your nail polish should be totally dry. When you dip it in the alcohol, it softens it up enough to take the print of the newspaper ink!

I tried a similar idea that I made up...It didn't work, but I tried that weeks before I saw this. So, rock on with newspaper nails!!!

Hi! How are you? I was just wondering if you had to the nail art thing with the crossword puzzle, or could you do it with any part of the newspaper. We usually don't do the crosswords, so they go to the recycling bin before I can get to them. Thanks so much!!!! Lynae P.
