MOD MOD MOD!!!
I really want to get lip gloss, but I have to have my Mom's OK-and she won't give it. Every time I ask her about it, she brings up a random fact about how poisonous and horrible it is-she's a TOTAL health nut!! I understand her concerns and I know that some lip gloss does have that, but she was allowed to use lip gloss when she was my age and it didn't kill her-and it hasn't killed anybody else!! I don't understand why she can't just let me be a girl like she was. What do you think?

Hey girl,

If your mom's worried about the chemicals (and for good reason -- some of that stuff is crazy!), why not show her a specific example of an organic, natural-ingredient-filled lip gloss you like and tell her you appreciate her concern but that you found a natural product, and see what she says? If she sees how important it is to you, she may change her mind.

MOD MOD MOD! I have asian eyes and for some reason I have difficulties putting eyeshadow on. Can you recommed any colors and techniques?




Hey girlie,

No problem! To enhance your eyes, start off by putting a base (aka medium) color over your entire lid. I love champagne and taupe colors for this - they're perfect neutrals. Then, pick a shade about 2 or 3 shades darker than the base color. Use a brush to push that into the crease of your eyebrow. Using a different brush, blend the two together so it doesn't look harsh. You could even use a lighter shade to highlight the lower side of your brow bone and the inside corner of your eye. Avoid lining the bottom lash line, but a coat of liquid liner on the top could definitely add drama! Smile

3 words...big sister blues
I have a sister who is 3 years OLDER than me and every little thing i do she has make a comment on it.. I bend down to get my book bag of the floor...why did you bend down like that?? blah! I cant even buy clothes without her saying anything...and what she says hurts...I really want to shop at Forever 21 but I can't because she does... UGH
how in the world do i deal with the big sister blues?

 

Well older siblings LOVE to get a reaction out of their younger siblings. My brother would bug me until i yelled at him. It was a game. But if i didnt yell he didnt win the game. So try to ignore her. Yes i know its very very hard. But no matter what she says stay confident and do what you want. Shes jut trying to bug you. If she yells at you for shopping at forever 21 just say "last time i checked you didnt own the store" and then walk away and end the convo. Just be calm about the whole thing and be collected. She'll stop if she no longer gets the reaction and the satisfaction. xoxo kerra
