Just in time for Heart’s Day, here’s an approach to exercise that’ll get your ticker in tip-top shape. “With High Intensity Interval Training (HITT), you push yourself hard for one minute, then bring the intensity down for one minute, then start all over again for a 30-minute cycle,” says Olney, MD-based personal trainer Beth Novick. “The best part is, you control just how hard and how easy you want to go.”

 

Bonus: Intervals have also proven to increase endurance and blast away fat three times faster than steady cardio. Here’s a workout that’ll really get your heart racing.

 

30 minute HIIT Workout

Hop on a treadmill or elliptical (don’t have access to machines? Hit the track, instead).

Minutes 1 to 5: Walk or jog easy

Minute 6: Intensity level 6

Minute 7: Intensity level 9
Minute 8: Intensity level 7
Minute 9: Intensity level 9
Minute 10: Intensity level 7
continue cycle until Minute 25
5 Minute cooldown

Mod! mod! mod!
Ok so I need help I can't stop eating! like when I'm at home just watching tv or doing homework I'll just get up and grab something to eat and then afterwards I feel terrible! how can I stop myself from eating like this???? I don't think I'm over weight but I'm not the health weight I want to be. I complain to my mom and she says that I'm skinny but I just feel like she's obligated to say that because she's my mom. I just don't know what to do anymore I'm tired of eating!!!




Hey girlie,

I learned something in Health class once that stuck with me FOREVER. My teacher said this: your mind develops habits even when it comes to eating. So if you eat while you're sitting on the couch watching TV and you do it often, your mind will always associate "sitting and watching TV" with "eating." It'll crave food because it's used to always doing those two activities together! Same goes with homework. You have to break those habits by filling that activity with something else. When you're watching TV and start craving a snack, try hopping up and doing 30 crunches instead. Or get a water bottle to satisfy the craving. For homework, reward yourself with a healthy snack halfway through or do something totally different, like write in your journal, listen to a song, or take a walk around the block. You gotta commit to this and use your self-control, instead of giving into these habits so quickly. You'll feel way better about yourself!!!

I'm kinda chunky and i work out and eat healthy.... what else can I do?




Hey girlie,

The best things to do are: cut out junk food, vary up your workout so you target different areas each day and give your body a challenge, and the most important...remember to love the body you have. You have a very healthy body if you've been eating right and exercising! That's something to really be proud of. Some people are naturally built different than others. That's not to say you CAN'T be skinny, but that your body is just meant to have curves. And they're beautiful! <333

why am i skinny but have a big belly?
and what types of exercises can i do to get rid of belly fat?

 

You can't spot reduce, chica.  If you're gonna' get rid of that, you gotta' stick with cardio and overall good eating!

MOD MOD MOD!!
Ok so I have a problem
I have been on and off sick like I have had pneumonia twice a sinus infection twice an ear infection once and I currently have mono!!!! It's a lot and this all started in the beginning of september I have missed over 65 days of school
School is being nice about homework and stuff.
But I just feel like I have just been to sick
My sister called me a "mess" because I have Been so sick
I don't know what to do to stay healthy
Please don't give me advice like
-drink fluids
-do to the doctor (I have gone ten times)
-get lots of rest
Ect
Actually any advice helps!!

I think you need to stock up on vitamin c. That will help build you immune system and get you stronger and able to fight this sickness. However theres not a lot of other advice i can give you. Keep up on your school work and try not to fall too far behind. Your sickness will fade and things will get better Smile xoxo kerra
