How to meet new guys

 

I'm thirteen years old and I am allowed to date. I'm not really interested in any of the guys that go to my school, and I was wondering how I could make more girl and guy friends outside of school. Any suggestions?


Hey girly! Just because your parents gave you the green light to date doesn't mean that you have to find a BF pronto. It's worth the wait to find a guy that you really like and not force it because you feel like you have to. If you are feeling the urge to have a boy in your life though, it's totes okay. Having someone to talk to and be there when you have no plans on a Friday night is never a bad thing.
 
To meet new people though, you have to be willing to do new things and go to new places. Join and rec basketball team or a coed soccer league, get out there and get active. Girls who aren’t afraid to get a little dirt under their nails are more appealing to guys, because it shows that they can have a good time and don’t sweat the small stuff.


If sports just aren’t your niche, join the community center drama club or volunteer at a homeless shelter through your church or place of worship. Meeting new people can be easy, as long as you are open to it and make yourself available.

Hey girly! The best you can do is practice as often as possible. The more confident you are, the better you'll do. And, before the competition, make sure to get enough rest. You don't want to be tired up there performing. I'm sure you'll do great! If you believe in yourself, then the judges will, too. Good luck, and let me know how it goes! Smile

hey! try talking with your mom about how you feel maybe you can all sit down and come to a compromise on these things. If not, you have to accept his rules, or you'll be miserable. Trust me, you'll find ways to get through it if you can stay positive and never stop being you!

I think you are over reacting. Did your friend ask that question in order to see if he liked you or because she likes him. You should find out the truth.

Do you have any mutual friends? Try to get them to plan a "hang out" where you can spend time with him, chat for a while, and get to know him even better. Then towards the end of the night, you could pull out your phone while you're in the middle of the good convo. Say something like, "Ok, you have to put your number in my phone. I might have to text you if I need music recommendations!" (Or something related to what you had been talking about in the convo - sports, movies, books, computers, whatever.) It's a casual and friendly way to snag his number - he won't suspect a thing Smile

If he knows you like him, how has he acted about that? Does he seem ok with it? Into it? Weirded out by it? Try to hang out with him outside of school so you can grow even closer as friends. If he's your BGF, getting his number (or giving him yours) should be no problem! Just snag his phone and say something like, "How do we not have each other's numbers by now? Crazy!" Then put yours in his phone. Try to be light-hearted and chill about the situation... he'll pick up on that and be the same Smile

I'm a junior in high school and if never had a boyfriend. I'm not desperate just ready ya now? It feels like all I pass the hallway is couples. I'm not weird or anything I have friends who are "popular" and friends who aren't. Idk what it is! I guess a lot of its bad luck lots of times when I spot a guy he has a girlfriend or gets one soon after. I'm not that picky. I really want one I've been waiting since sixth grade and sick of it! It's getting hard to watch romantic movies because I want that so bad!! It's not like I don't talk to guys I do a lot. Hey girl! Not having a boyfriend is nothing to worry about and it does not make you weird. If you feel like you need one than open up a bit. Consider boys who you are already friends with, the best relationships start with friendship so look around and reconsider some of your friends. Hang out with different groups of people and make yourself open to possibilities. If nothing comes up dont worry, some guy will come along and you will know that it was worth waiting.

Hey brimarie, it's important that no matter who he likes you guys don't let this come in between your friendship. You don't want a guy to break up your great friendship. Try talking to him. Ask about his interests and classes and see if you can get a feel for his feelings for you. Sometimes you can kinda tell if a guy is into you by talking to them. Ouch. Well, if he likes her, it's kinda hard to get in the middle...remember, you can't force a guy to like you. But you can still try to get to know him better as friends, grow closer to him, and see where things go from there! Try talking to him online or getting your BFF to arrange a group outing with him and his friends. Ask him for homework help or about a hobby of his (a sport, a band, etc.). It's all about taking a deep breath and reaching out to him so you become friends! <3

You're progressing through puberty naturally and it could happen at any time - but we can't tell you when. Could be next month, could be in two years. Try to read about it so you know what to expect, be prepared with a supply of pads, and relax. You can't do anything to make it happen sooner so just try to enjoy life and accept that it will come when your bod is ready!

in July i broke up with my boyfriend because i wanted to be single. we had dated for 3 months. i didnt talk to him for months after that, but the other week he texted me and wanted me to tell my brother something. now he texts me everyday and i went to his wrestling matches today and yesterday. he even got hurt pretty bad and i was there for him. the problem is he has a gf. a mutual friend of ours says he likes me and im pretty sure the friend told my ex i like him. at the wrestling thing yesterday the mutual friend was messing with my key necklace and said it was the key to my crush's heart and he held it over to my crush and my crush smiled at me. our mutual friend says my crush likes me, but i saw on my crush's phone his background is of his gf. ive been told though him and his gf hardly ever talk and they never hangout. me and him used to hang out every friday. what do you think i should do of all this? thanks! Hey girl, well honestly the dance is for YOU so it should be your choice on who to invite. I would just break it to your parents gently. Politely explain to them how you wanted to ask your friend because you're really excited for the dance and want to become closer friends to this guy. Make sure you explain that in your life you'll only have a few dances and you want to make them best out of them, but you appreciate her thought of suggesting "E." I'm sure your mom will remember when she had her school dances and will completely understand.

Hey girl! Well when i was in HS i always remember my parents being really nervous about me hanging out with a guy (Mostly because I was their only child). I would just tell your parents straight up he's just a friend and you guys are going to just watch some TV or play games, or where you're hanging out, if you're going out somewhere. Hey girl, I completely understand! I was in the same situation when I was in HS. Try something as subtle as smiling when you pass by. It's harder because you guys aren't in a similar situation like a class or after school activity. Maybe you could find him on Facebook? See if he'll add you. Plenty of people are homeschooled, so see if there's a group in your area where homeschooled kids can hang out together! Some cities have organized groups that send homeschool kids on field trips and other cool stuff. You can also play a sport at your local community center, or introduce yourself to some of your neighbors.

We text sometimes, and he said we should go on a date sometime but hasn't texted me since then (wednesday). The other guy is kinda quiet, a little bit out there. I really like this guy from my church. I go to a different school then everyone else. He's really quiet and athletic, like me. I was at our confirmation lock in and we were on a team where we had to run around and find random things. It was snowing/raining outside I was running full speed to get inside, he was close behind me and said 'oh my gosh' because i was fast. Well when he got there his body slid on the ground and I felt bad because he fell. Do you think he would still like me because I beat him and he fell? Like once a day i send him a message and if he responds we keep talking.
