Looking for a good cause? We’ve got ‘em in spades! These are
a (very) few of our favorite non-profit organizations. Spread the love this
Valentine’s Day by planning a fundraiser for one (or a handful) of these (or
other) fantastic causes.
If you love animals
The ASPCA was the first human organization to be founded in the
Western Hemisphere, and to this day, it remains one of the best at preventing
cruelty to animals, rescue animals in danger, pass laws in support of animal
rights and aid shelters across the U.S.
If you want to pay it forward
We L-O-V-E Heifer International. Why? Because they are dedicated
to helping families in third-world countries help themselves. You know the
phrase, “Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and
he’ll eat for life”? Well, that’s Heifer all over. They allow you to donate
farm animals to families, providing them a new way of life rather than just a
few meals.
If you wanna help kids
Autism Speaks was founded in 2005 to advocate for and support children
with autism. Through charitable donations, they fund research into the causes,
prevention and treatment of autism. They also increase awareness of the autism
spectrum and advocate for the needs of the autistic.
If you’re a fab feminista
Support Women for Women International. The org provides female survivors of war rebuild
their lives with tools and resources that help them become stable and
self-sufficient providers for themselves and their families.
If you wanna save the world
Try turning your attention to the H2O that pours freely from
your faucet, then check out charity: water. This non-profit brings safe drinking
water to people in developing nations.
If you wanna find a cure for cancer
Doctors Without
Borders travels
the world providing medical relief to those in areas ravaged by war and
disease. Their goal? To give every individual the quality healthcare they
deserve.
If you want to stop bullying
Consider raising money and awareness for The Trevor
Project. They
provide crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ youth
across the U.S.
