Check out the video, below:
Since its release, the video has gone from being a schoolroom comedy to fuel for the political firestorm over the state of the nation, particularly in the realm of education. Definitely not what the creators intended. On Sunday, the pair issued a statement:
"The video that we made as a school project has received a lot of unexpected media attention, and has been co-opted into an ongoing political debate that has become quite volatile. It should be known that we filmed for several hours, during which time many students gave correct responses; the film represents a short segment of the most entertaining answers. The bottom line is that we made the video to get a few laughs around our school, and it turned into something bigger. It was not our intent to polarize people, set off a firestorm, or get people to point fingers. Having said that, people will take from it what they will. We want to continue our work as student journalists in a productive manner."
What do you think, babes? Are kids today as dumb as this video makes them out to be, or are these examples highlighting what you’d fine anywhere? Do you think there’s a problem with the education system where you live?

i think the saddest one was when girl was asked what countries border the US and she said 'Canada - wait no that's a state' wow...

I am dumbfounded by the lack of education in these high school students. What bothers me the most about this video is that we live in a country that offers a completely free education to all citizens. The mere act of not taking advantage of this opportunity is astonishing, really. I can say nothing more.

You know if tv played all the educational shows from the 90's and kids stopped staring at tv screens 24/7 we'd be smarter. I'm 11 my bday is in 3 days I read at a high school level. I have a mall library of books that's just hat I unpacked from our move. And to top it all off I only read fiction. But I'm still very smart.
