Getting ready to rock a swimsuit over spring break? Score your best body ever with our total toning workout. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be breaking down the moves that’ll get your tummy, legs, arms and booty in tip-top shape—just in time for the spring thaw. Let’s get to it!

 

Since sculpting is about muscle control rather than momentum, you want to do these moves as slowly as you can. Begin each sesh with a 5-minute warm-up, like walking or jogging in place. When your finished, stretch your bod out to give your muscles some relief.

 

Want flat abs? Try this move...

 

The Plank

Start by positioning yourself with your hands and knees on the floor. Drop your hips and walk your hands forward so that your knees, hips, head and shoulders form a diagonal line. Make sure your butt neither sinks nor pikes up too high. Flatten your lower abs by pulling in your bellybutton, but avoid pulling in so much that your spine curves. Hold this flattened contraction for 60 seconds before moving on to the final step.

 

Finish by keeping the lower abs tight to stabilize your pelvis and spine. Slowly life your right knee up, then your left knee, and straighten both legs behind you. You should be propped up on your toes and hands, with your body forming a diagonal line from head to heels. Keep your torso stable, and continue pulling your belly button in while breathing normally. Hold for 15 seconds, working your way up to 2 minutes over a period of several weeks (add 5 to 10 more seconds each time).

The best way to get healthy is by going vegetarian. It may sound crazy but it's true! Some people have lost over 150 pounds from a vegetarian diet, but I doubt you need to lose that many! I sure you look great! But if you want to get those abs we all want I would say go veggie and maybe run for 15 minutes a day. How long do you have to do this to get flat abs? are there any excersizes to get flat abs in a few weeks, or a month or two?? help!

Hey girl,

For abs (as with most exercises), you'll have to stay with it for a while to get results, though if you do more reps you may see results faster. Just stay healthy and keep exercising and eating right -- it's more important to live a healthy lifestyle than to worry about how you look!

An even better, and harder, way to do this exercise is to do it on your elbows with your hands together. It's also good for your arms and legs. I would start at 30 seconds and eventually work your way up.

i do gymnastics and we do everyday at least 100 v ups and 100 reverse crunches plus with 3 hours of gymnastics and i still have a stomache while most of the other girls have a sixpack and i work twice as hard as most of them what can i do??????????

Hey girl,

It takes lots of time to see REAL definition in your muscles. Abs are no different - you'll feel great and start to notice a difference, but you won't have defined abs in a few weeks. You gotta work longer than that! <3

i play soccer and i'm the third fastes girl on the team and my team is pretty fast but i have a muffin top and everything i do won't help is there any little thing i can do that's a werid trick like eat with one leg up or something like that where i can do it where ever.

Hey girl,

Unfortunately weight loss is more about eating healthy and exercising than "weird tricks" -- stuff like that will likely not work and won't be safe! If you're fast and are staying fit by playing soccer, that's more important than how much you weigh!

Mod mod mod!!!! Reading ChicGeek's comment I thought about something. I don't drink enough milk ( I drink water more) . Even my doctor told me I needed more milk in my diet. My problem is I just can't take those pills, it is hard for me to keep that routine, and drinking milk from a cup isn't fully my style. I don't have a problem with the tast of milk..... Help me!!!! Thx.

Ok, I can do pushups and run the mile easily but whenever I do crunches my neck hurts.
Do u have any tips, or maybe some excersises that I can do instead?

 

Youre straining your neck as you do crunches. Try to focus your gaze on one spot on the wall as you do them. Do NOT pull as your neck as you try to crunch upward. In fact dont use your neck to get upward at all. Crunch using your abs. xoxo kerra

Is it OK to drink a lot of milk(or sometimes most of the time/sometimes) and not much water?



Hey babe,

There's nothing wrong with drinking more milk than water.  You should still be drinking water, however.  It's what your body fuels itself off of most properly.  Milk carries extra nutrients and calcium, but depending on which type of milk you're drinking, it may carry a few extra fats and calories.
