Is he unromantic... or just a jerk?


 
So my boyfriend isn't always very romantic or sweet. More often than not, he's insulting me. Is he just too afraid to be romantic or is he mean?


His Answer: “Guys can act weird when it comes to romance because they think it makes them seem uncool and less manly,” says Bennett, 14, “but if he is straight up mean than that is just not right.”


Decoded: Guys think that just because romance movies are girly, they can’t have a romantic side as well. They are too concerned about loosing their “man card” to take you out for a nice dinner or even tell you that he loves you. Although he may not be into the lovey dovey stuff, that does not give him a right to be rude to you, he can still be nice and not romantic.


Your Move: Assure your guy that you wont think less of him after romancing you for an evening. A nice dinner and movie would be much appreciative. Keep in mind that he may just be embarrassed around him friends so try to get him alone and dig the romance out of him. But if he is just straight up mean and doesn’t seem to care about you, ditch the dude and find someone who actually wants to take you to see The Vow.

MOD MOD MOD I like my bgf and i think he likes me too. We flirt all the time and people even asked us why we dont go out, he studdered and said "i dont like her like that" but idk if he really doesnt or is just covering up something, even after all that he still talks to me like nothing happened! But i think he has feelings for another girl too cause he flirta with.her as well but i dont as much as me. What should i think, do, or say next time we talk so i can at least find out what he thinks of me?

 

Hey elevenbailey, since you guys are best friends it best to just be honest with him. When it's just the two of you, ask him what he really feels about a relationship with you. Let him know you won't get mad at whatever answer he gives, so he knows it can be truthful. Hope this helps! Xoxo

MOD MOD** Ok, I like this guy (sure you've never heard that before lol) and were friends and I want to tell him or at least find some way to let him know that I like him but since we sit next to each other in english I don't want it to be awkward if he doesn't like me back. Any suggestions about what I can do? Thanks!

 

Hey imposible2, you could start with flirting and see how that goes. Try complimenting him, joking around and even getting physical by play hitting his arm or grabbing his hand. If he responds to that, maybe you could start asking him questions about girls and his relationship status. Questions like "Are you seeing someone right now?" or "What kind of girls do you like?" That will let him know you're interested, without saying it. Hope this helps! Xoxo
