Ok, so my view on this is that like, look so there is a thirteen year old in my grade who got suspended for putting laxatives in someone's drink as a JOKE. These kids were poisoning their teacher, and yeah, they may be kids, but as fifth graders, I assume they had to have known it would kll her, so it would have been a little sad-heartening to not see these kids expelled.they poisoned her, and even the one who knocked the cup over participated in the planning and took part in the doing of this. I hope the teacher is ok!!

I think that if the girls knew that their teacher couldv'e died, they should be on house parol.(THey're a bit young for juvie) But they all need SERIOUS counseling. I'm not so sure that the girl who saved the teacher should be punished though.

I'm guessing they were just mad about something. It would be nice to hear their side of the story. But if this is the entire story, in my opinion they should be going to Juvie. They really weren't punished that harshly (they could have killed someone!), so the adults are basically saying "It's not a big deal, we'll just move schools and try again there." That's just giving the kids the go ahead to do something bad again!

What!!?? Those kids need some serious help. It's a good thing that one kid had a conscience (did i spell that right?) because that teacher would have been dead. i think its so sad when i hear stories like this. teachers have lives of there own and imagine if she was murdered and you were her kid, and some one had to tell u that your mother was gone. would u want to be responsible for something like that? one time i got home from school and my stepdad told me that my mom was in the hospital. shes a teacher, and these two girls were fighting. she tried to break them up but she couldnt. she turned around to go find another teacher and the next thing she was slammed against a brick wall and out cold. i was in 1st or 2nd grade and that was probably the scariest day of my life. my mom was ok, but what if she wasn't? I'm glad nothing happened, just like nothing happened to that teacher with the poison, but people should really think about there actions because it could cause alot more damage.

no matter what punishment they deserve, they won't be punished because they can use the infancy defense. At least i think that's how it works; mock trial dosen't go too far into that one because if you use that defense there's no trial. it can be used by anyobdy under age 16.

This is so terrible.I mean,my teacher this year is terrible and EXTREMELY aggravating but killing her would never even cross my mind.I understand the punishment but I do think a special school should be considered.These kids really do need some help.As for the whole "movies cause violence" thang,I dont really think that is legit.I DO think that society today is sooooo.......insane.It's sad,really.

alot of people are like why should kids be treated different from adults? Seriously there is ahuge difference from kids and adults. adults have fully developed brains and definetaly know the difference between right and wrong and are more than likely fully aware of cause and effect, while kids mostly just think of right now. Alot of people are saying that the kids should go to jail for life come on, im not saying what they were doing was remotly right or not that bad, but it was atempt to murder they didnt kill anyone and one kid was smart enough to stop the whole thing, explusion and some thearpy is all these kids really need. they have probably learned their lesson and now know stuff like that is unacceptable.

My mom is a teacher and this really scares me! The kids she teaches are little monsters, and now I'm scared that they might do the same to her!!! And how did the 5th graders get RAT POISON?! They should be sent to a juvenile correctional facility, where they can be examined and helped if possible. This is so sad, it is just as bad as hearing about that "cop" who pulled over a woman. He was actually a murderer, who stole a police car and uniform, now she is dead. Where do these people get their sick ideas. Violent movies are seriously corrupting society. My 9 year old brother runs around screaming profanities, and trying to karate chop me in half. All because he watched PG-13 movies when he was 6. He has grown up knowing nothing but violence. Another thing I cannot stand is how we are "dumming down" society. People can't even read analog clocks anymore. All this generation does is talk on their cell phone when they 6 years old and then use Facebook when they turn 10. They don't read books for fun, they can't write without using shorthand and IT IS JUST TERRIBLE! WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO???
