Taking risks is tough. Why? Because not knowing the expected
outcome of your actions is terrifying! Now that spring has sprung (OK, not
officially, but a girl can dream, right?), we’re ready to plunge into the deep
end. After all, chances are that risk you’re dying to take just might pay off.
Here are five risks that are totally worth it:
Telling your crush you like him
Come on, aren’t you tired of not knowing…and seeing him
flirt with other femmes? If the answer is sorry, no thanks, at least you can
move on to another beau.
Seeing if Teach will give ya extra credit
Worst that happens is she says no—and then you can always
ask for an after school study sesh, or a tutor suggestion. She’ll appreciate
your initiative to give your grades a boost.
Asking Mom and Dad for a favor
No, nothing outrageous (“Mom, can I puh-lease have that $300
purse?”). Try, “Mom, Casey and I really want to see Hunger Games at midnight. May I break curfew just this once?”
Trying out for a new sport (or joining a new club)
Who cares if your buds couldn’t care less about your
school’s new quidditch team? If you’re a Potterhead (or simply itching to shake
up your sched), give it (or anything else) a shot.
Starting your own business
Can’t stand kids? Don’t know anyone with pets? Branch out
and start your own biz, whether it’s cookin’ up cupcakes or making friendship
bracelets.
