All we’ve gotta say is…really, Utah? Regardless of conservative politics, moral values or religious beliefs, in this day and age, is it really smart to completely eliminate sex-ed from public schools? We get that waiting until marriage for sex is a value many Americans ascribe to. But even if a girl decides to wait, wouldn’t it be better for her to be fully informed of her options and simply opt not to go there rather than to potentially make one uninformed decision that affects her entire life?
No matter your stance on sex-ed or the act itself, facts are facts. More than three-quarters of girls have had sex before they turn 20—and that’s for girls who’ve had sex ed. The number jumps to 86 percent without a solid sex-ed curriculum. Eliminating sex-ed doesn’t seem to reduce rates of sexual activity, it increases them, yahoo.com reports. And if teens are going to be having sex regardless of what anyone says or does, shouldn’t they be having safe sex? We certainly think so.

POSTED IN sex ed, In the News
If they teach you not to have sex until married, that's cool, but do you really want to give up your virginity to a 16 year old guy you'll never see again most likely? Just be patient. And don't take the risk with birth control. The only guaranteed one is no sex at all.It can still get past, and that could result in another innocent baby being killed. If they must, they should at least have the parents approve the class, and I think the parents should know what they're going to be talking about.

I have a solution! Let sex ed be an elective class, like choir or band. People should get to choose if they want to take that class or not. And with the society we live in these days, you don't need to take sex ed o be informed about sex. I know some people who would actually enjoy taking that class, where as others, like me, would rather jump off a cliff. And I'm going to stop right there and shut my mouth before I start WWIII. Toodles! I'm going to go ask my mom if we can move to Utah

i'll be completely honest, i am in nooo way against pre marital sex as long as if its with someone you love and not just because you wonder what it's like. and this is the dumbest thing i've ever heard!! just because you don't openly talk about sex doesn't mean that the kids will stay abstinent (as if it's not their choice to have sex or not), just like not talking about homosexuality won't make a gay person any more straight. its just stupid. i hope they enjoy having a ton more heartbroken pregnant girls running aroung their public schools, i guess that is what they'll need to see to make them understand that teens should be informed about options.
