All we’ve gotta say is…really, Utah? Regardless of conservative politics, moral values or religious beliefs, in this day and age, is it really smart to completely eliminate sex-ed from public schools? We get that waiting until marriage for sex is a value many Americans ascribe to. But even if a girl decides to wait, wouldn’t it be better for her to be fully informed of her options and simply opt not to go there rather than to potentially make one uninformed decision that affects her entire life?
No matter your stance on sex-ed or the act itself, facts are facts. More than three-quarters of girls have had sex before they turn 20—and that’s for girls who’ve had sex ed. The number jumps to 86 percent without a solid sex-ed curriculum. Eliminating sex-ed doesn’t seem to reduce rates of sexual activity, it increases them, yahoo.com reports. And if teens are going to be having sex regardless of what anyone says or does, shouldn’t they be having safe sex? We certainly think so.

Well, wouldn't you want to be informed and not even have sex rather than having sex, not being informed, and having a STD or even worse a kid at 16?

Hey- drug use isn't safe either, so why don't the public schools stop teaching about drugs and let the kids find out by themselves? (I am in not hating on Utah, just the idea.)This type of legislature is a slippery slope.
