I’m gonna get my hair cut soon and I really need a good, easy hair style. My current style is basic; shoulder-length, straight, and long bangs. I want something good for my thick, auburn hair. I have a heart face (I think) and I’m trying to grow my hair out. Do you have any suggestions that will let me be able to do different hairdos for school, yet be easy to keep up? Thanks!




Hey girlie,

You're lucky, because heart-shaped faces can handle ANY hair cut really well! Smile Personally, I would keep the length and get layers cut into your hair starting around your chin. With your long bangs and straight/thick texture, it'll give some body and bounce to your hair... and it'll really spice it up! Plus, layers can be made piecey for an edgy look, curled for a girly fancy look, or left normal for everyday. Love it! <3

I play a lot of sports during the summer so I keep my hair up a lot of the time. My hair is starting to get pretty long that even if I put it in a high ponytail, it's still past my neck. I still want to keep my long hair but is their anything I can do so that it stays up and still looks good( I'm always concerened that my hair looks bad when I put it up)

Long hair is beautiful and I’m sure you look great with your hair up! Try putting it in a cute bun if you want to keep it out of your face. You could also do a variety of braids to keep it out of your face and still look super cute! Any of these would work but I would recommend getting a headband for when you play sports to guarantee that no hair would be in your face. Headbands are super cute too so no matter what you do, your hair will look great. Hope this helps!

I play sports a lot during summer so I keep my hair up a lot of the time, but it is starting to get long. I want to keep it long but I don't know what to do to keep it up so it doesn't get in my face. What styles can I do so that my hair stays up and looks great at the same time.

My best friend used to have long hair and she was an athlete. She used to put her hair back in a bun with a cute headband to keep her hair out of her face. She would also do a braid to keep her hair back and tight in place. I would try any of these. I think a headband would be best to keep your hair out of your face and plus they are super cute! I hope this helps doll!

I'm considering getting highlights in my hair. I have darkish brown hair, so I would get a lighter shade of brown highlights. If you get somewhat natural-looking highlights, does it look strange at your roots as your hair grows? Thanks for any advice you can offer!




Hey girlie,

As long as you go with a natural color (not platinum blonde or pink, for example), it won't look too weird when it grows in! You will be able to tell because you live with it, but other people will just see the highlights fading into your roots Smile Plus you can always get them done again in a couple months if you liked the way it looks!

MOD Smile I have really straight, long, think hair. Curlers don't usually work for membecause my hair is so straight, even the wand. What type of curling iron do you suggest I try? Thanks!

 

 

Hey chica! Have you ever tried electric rollers (curlers)? They're the ones that you plug into the wall to heat up before pinning them in. If not, I'd give them a shot! The more you put in your hair and the smaller sections you roll, the curlier your hair will be. Leave them in for longer (until they totally cool down... maybe a half hour to an hour), and the blast with hot air on your dryer's low setting. Mist with hairspray and take them out! Hope that helps.

Hey girl,

I have straight layered hair too, and there are tons of ideas in our Hair Styles section for girls like us! And here are some of my favorites...

1. Shailene's Oscar bun is surprisingly easy! It looks like there are a lot of steps, but it doesn't take long at all. Perf for a school morning.

2. Jennifer's half-up-half-down style is so girly and cute. It doesn't matter if your ends aren't wavy like hers - it's still a great look for school, weekends, nights with friends, or a date!

3. Lucy's low bun looks great, is easy to do if you're running low on time, and is perf for girls with layers because it doesn't matter if some pieces fall loose. Give them all a try - they get easier once you practice!

Hi there, I do 20 crunches every day, I do 30 sit ups every day, and every day I go for an hour run. But I'm still 90 pounds. And I need to lose weight, I'm not over weight, but I feel like I need to be fitter. I'm also vegan. But I just, I'm not skinny enough.



Hey babe,

90 pounds sounds actually borderline low on the weight spectrum.  Being "fit" doesn't only revolve around your weight though.  It can mean you're stronger, or faster, or just plain healthier.

If you're not losing the weight that you want then it's likely because you're not matching your eating habits with your healthy activity.  Make sure that you're taking in mainly good-for-your-bod natural foods, and less unhealthy items.
