I can't stop crying

  • 10 things to tell your mom anytime
  • I don't want to leave my friends behind when school ends
  • My dad is sexually abusing me. How can I tell my mom?

I cry at night for no reason, but I feel dorky talking to a school counselor.

Dear Help!

You’d feel dorky talking to a counselor? You’re feeling miserable now! Remember that counselors have heard it all. People in helping professions would never laugh or make fun of you. They want to help. So stop by the counselor’s office and open up. You’ll be glad you did. You might figure out what’s causing your crying spells, or that they’re simply hormonal.

Ok so I feel like I'm the friend that everyone comes to tell their problems to (which I know is a good thing because they trust me) but when I have a problem they act like they could care less and I tried talking to my parents but my mom didn't really get my point I tried explaining it to her but she still didn't get it. And I have another prob, I was looking at a bunch of photos when I saw one of my mom and dad and me together and I started crying because my real parents never got married and I never saw them together and now they both are remarried and I feel kinda alone and I just got over getting bullied by my ex BFF can you please help thx and sorry it's so Long

Hey girl,

That is great they trust you, but you deserve to be able to open up too! Don't be afraid to talk to your pals about what's bugging you -- they might not even realize they're not being receptive to your problems! I'm sorry to hear about your parents and that it's making you sad -- the good news is that there are tons of different types of families! You're lucky to have parents who love you, whether they're your birth parents or not, so embrace what you have and focus on the positive! If you're being bullied at school, you should speak with a trusted adult such as a teacher, guidance counselor or doctor to see what you can do about it.

Okay, this is kinda off-subject, but I need advice! So I'm kinda confused about what body shape I am. I just got done reading the article about body shapes here on GL, but I still can't figure it out.At first I thought I was hourglass, but my waist doesn't really nip in that much. Also my shoulders and thighs are pretty muscular from dancing. Thank you so so so so much and sorry about the long comment!

Hey girl,

That sounds like an hourglass even if your waist isn't as drastically smaller than the rest of you. You can fake a more dramatic hourglass by adding a waist belt to your outfit or wearing a fitted top and full skirt. if you're still confused when you're shopping, the people at the store can help you find what will look best on your body. I hope that helps!

I cry at night all the time too. It helps me sleep, which is an advantage, but crying is no fun, especially if it's for a particular reason. I'd feel strange too if I had to talk to a counselor.

I feel weird opening up to a teacher in school who has helped me alot this school year I met him because I was in trouble and he is my year head and everytime I have a problem about teachers being mean or something I go to him. Well today I went to his office when the bell went to go to first period because it was the class I had a prob with I decided to go then. I went to his office and chapped the door and he answered and I said I need to talk to you and he said sorry I'm busy the now I'll come and find you when I'm free so he did and the first thing he said was are you ok? And I was I just needed him to come help me talk to a teacher who had been bugging me. He was ok with it he helped etc and listened but does he want me to open up? If I ever do have a problem Im really not sure how to go about talking to him etc.

Hey girl,

Teachers only want you to open up to them as much as you're comfortable, so don't feel pressured to say anything you don't want to! If you want to talk to a different teacher or guidance counselor who you're more comfortable with, that's fine too! If you have a serious problem to talk about, this article has hotlines and resources where you can get professional advice. http://www.girlslife.com/post/2008/08/04/HELP!2.aspx
