How long should I wait for my crush?



This guy and I like each other and one of our conversations came to why he doesn't want to go out with me. He said that he had just gotten out of a relationship and doesn't want another one right now. But that was four months ago and they had been broken up for two months prior to the conversation. I really really like him but I'm also tired of waiting. What should I do?

Be careful not to read too much into this, babe. There are quite a lot of factors that come into play during these situations. It’s very possible that he was not lying and that the breakup hit him hard. How much time a guy needs before he can move on properly varies incredibly. Some guys are good to go three weeks later, some need three months. Often, if the boy is holding on to the relationship, he simply won’t want to move on and he’d rather wait for his ex-girlfriend to be his again. That’s one possibility.
 
Another is that there are mixed signals somewhere between you two. If he does, in fact, like you, then why is he putting off being with you? Ask yourself this question: Do you know for sure that he shares your feelings? If he’s not sure how he feels about you, then honestly girlie, he doesn’t deserve you. You should never, ever put your life on hold for a boy who might be forever on the fence. Sure, this guy might be great, but there's no sense in waiting if there's no guaranteed future for you two.
 
If he can’t make a decision, then you make it for him and find one who will truly appreciate all that he’s got in having you affections. Good luck, girl!

MOD MOD MOD! So my boyfriend and I have been dating for almost 3 months, for the past 2 days he's been blowing me off for this girl Chaunda. I don't think he's doing it intentially, so I didn't mention it to him. Then, I found out she was at his house yesterday so I texted him and asked him about it in a friendly tone. He got all mad & said I was being to clingy and I need to get off his back even though I had never mentioned this before yesterday. So we ended on a bad note yesterday, so I texted him today (5 hours ago) & he never texted back. What should I do? I really DO NOT want to break up with him... Help!




Hey girlie,

Here's the thing - as long as you're honestly not being too clingy/jealous of your BF, you should be able to talk to him about what's bothering you without him freaking out and accusing you. You should also be able to trust him when he's not with you. And if he has plans with you, he should never blow you off to hang out with someone else! There are all kinds of red flags here that make this relationship seem not-so-good. Try to talk to him in person about what's going on and see where his head is at. Tell him the truth and suggest a way to make this better. If he seems distant or angry at you, he probably is not as committed as you think. If he does act that way and doesn't seem to care about how he's making you feel, I'd think twice about sticking around <3

thanks Lauren C....i do text first almost always...and i never really thought about that...he might just love having a GF! but i did try to break up with him once but i just felt sooo guilty and he said i was the best thing that has ever happened to him....but shouldn't he treat me like it??? ughh boys r confusingFrown




Haha they really are girlie, hang in there! Dating isn't always easy, but remember you never have to feel guilty if breaking up is the best thing for both of you. Breakups are always hard no matter what - and yes, sometimes you'll doubt whether it was the right choice because you'll miss your ex, you'll feel bad for hurting him, etc. But if you talk to him about how you're feeling and what has to change... and nothing actually changes... then things aren't working out. Just make sure you aren't being too demanding (and um, asking your BF to talk to you/hang out with you sometimes is not demanding). If you're just hoping for a relationship where you share quality time with your BF, you feel respected, and you have a good time together... then you owe it to yourself to find someone who will do those things for you Smile

My boyfriend and i have been dating for almost 6 months now and well....he's not the bestFrown he never really texts me and we don't get to talk much because he's in a grade above me. i just don't know y he never calls or texts me or asks me out on dates and its getting to the point to where it feels like we aren't even dating!! but i don't want to break up with him cause he loves me and i love him...its just hard. any advise?? idk how to really tell him all of this...:/ everyone says i deserve better...

Have you talked to him and tried to grow closer to him? Ask him to hang out and text him yourself! You don't have to wait for him to make the first move all the time - you're in this relationship too Smile But if you try this and he seems distant or even cold, I gotta be honest - that's not love. He might love having a GF but, if you love someone, you won't want to ignore them this much! And if that's the case, I agree with your friends.. you DO deserve better! <3 Give it a try and be honest with him about your feelings. If nothing changes after a while, it's ok to move on to find someone who pays more attention.

MOD MOD MOD!okay so i like this guy that i have for science and lunch so i told him that i like him n he said "i kinda like u too" and i got so super exited about it but like a month already passed n he hasn't asked me out yet but i know he still likes me. But does that mean he doesn't want to go out with me or he thinks there's something wrong with me. the year's already going to end n idk if i should ask him out or what because i really  like him!! help!!
